Chapter Twenty One-

It was an probably an hour later when we, meaning me, Vic, and Mike, decided we should go to school, even though we had already missed all of first and some of our second hour. Mike was of course against it, but after a talk from Vic, he finally gave in.

For the first half hour Mike and I spent waiting for Vic to get ready, it was kind of awkward between us, while we were waiting for Vic to get ready. We were both almost deadly silent, not really sure what to say to each other. Before this small incident, he and I were friends, and we talked whenever we were alone, which wasn't a lot, but was sometimes. But now, we were both silent because of our previous argument about Vic. He had so many valid points. I should have told Mike about what was going on with Vic, but I didn't think I had the right to do that. It wasn't my secret to tell, it wasn't my place to say.

But Vic was Mike's brother, older brother at that. I could only imagine how Mike felt right now. Hurt, betrayed. Not having a sibling made it hard for me to image what he was going through. But I knew that if I found out that any of my friends were doing this, I would most likely feel almost like Mike did right now.

I sighed, looking at Mike, who was seated next to me on the couch, doing something on his phone. I opened my mouth to say something, but Mike beat me to it. "Look, I'm not mad at you anymore. If anything, I'm glad that you did tell me, though I wish I would've found out myself. You not telling me shows me that you wanted my brother to trust you. Even if that meant keeping this big secret to yourself. So, if anything, thank you for watching over him." Mike said, looking away from his phone and at me.

I was stunned into silence now. I didn't except him to forgive me so easily. After all, I had kept this giant secret from him about his own brothers well being. Once again I opened my mouth to say something, but Mike raised his hand, stopping me. "I am though, still somewhat mad. Like I said, I'm glad you were protecting my brother, but this is my own brother." He explained, sighing.

I nodded, quickly speaking before he could stop me again. "I know, I know, and I am sorry I didn't tell you. I couldn't risk Vic knowing I told you. He would hate me, and he would, I don't know. Fall? He acts so strong, like nothing ever hurts him, but I've seen him break. He's fallen so many times before, and if he knew that I went behind his back and told you, then he would've hated me, he would've fallen again, and I wouldn't be able to be there for him because he would've pushed me away. And honestly, I can't lost him." I explained, so quickly I almost didn't understand myself.

Mike starred at me in what I think was shock for a few minutes, before he spoke again. "Your in love with Vic." He said, his eyebrows raised. My own eyes widened. Was I love in love with Vic? Sure, I had thought about the possibility before so many times, but I hadn't fully accepted it yet. What if I really was in love with Vic? We hadn't even been dating for a month! But then again, the more I thought about, the more it made sense. Like the way every time he walked in the room, my heart picked up speed a little. I loved that when he talked about something he was passionate about, his eyes lit up. The way he was when he was protecting his friends. It seemed like he would die if it meant making sure they were happy. I loved those things about him, but was I really in love with Vic?

Mike chuckled, shaking his head. "Your in so deep." He said, snickering. I was about to say something, deny it, honestly I have no idea, but the sound of footsteps on the stairs stopped me. I looked away from Mike, and saw Vic coming down the stairs, wearing some old jeans, a white t shirt, and a red flannel. He sent me a smile, walking over to me and Mike.

"Alright, we're already super late, so we need to get going, now." Vic told the two of us. Mike groaned, obviously not looking forward to going to school, but he got up none the less, and walked over to where his shoes were thrown carelessly. When we were alone for a second, he smiled at me. "So, why were you here so early?" He asked me, raising an eyebrow, a smirk on his lips. I chuckled, feeling my cheeks heat up.

"Um.. Well, uh, I had a bad feeling since you called me so many times last night, and I uh, just wanted to come over early and was going to get a ride with you." I told him, embarrassment flooding me. Vic chuckled, wrapping his arms around my waist loosely, pulling me closer to him.

"That's sweet." He said, smiling at me, the smirk replaced with an almost loving smile. I smiled, though my cheeks were still a burning red. I was going to say something about Mike being just in the other room, but when Vic leaned into kiss me, I completely forgot what I was saying.

I leaned into the kiss, grasping the sleeves of Vic's flannel. We stayed like this for what felt like hours, the kiss getting deeper and more heated, that is until Mike walked back into the room. "Ah! Eyes, eyes, eyes!" He said, making me and Vic chuckle, pulling away from each other, though Vic kept his hand on my hip, as he looked at his brother, amusement in his eyes.

"Oh please, I've seen you and Alysha doing WAY worse." Vic said, shaking his head. I grinned, chuckling. Mike however, rolled his eyes, crossed his arms over his chest.

"Okay, first that was ONE time and I apologized for that many times, second this is the living room, OPEN GROUND I may add, third, we're late for school so you can play tonsil hockey after!" He said, shaking his head and walking out of the house and to the car. I laughed, and moments later both Vic and I were laughing, hard.

"Come on, we better get going." Vic said, moments later after we had pulled ourselves together, grabbing my hand and leading us out to the car where Mike was waiting in the backseat of Vic's car.

_Later At School_

After having been bombarded with questions from all of our friends, we had made it to lunch, and were now sitting at our table, both Vic and my friends, and Sarah, the girl from the beach the other day. I wasn't that surprised to see everyone was practically all friends at the table, just like the other day. "Come on, all I wanna know, is if the reason that you and Kellin were late, was because you two were up to something!" Barakat said quietly to me and Vic, as all everyone else was in their own conversations. I chuckled, because this was almost the third time he had asked that.

Vic rolled his eyes at our friend, shaking his head. "For the last time, Kellin and I were not "doing" anything, I just overslept, which in turn Mike oversleep, and Kellin happened to come over and ended up falling asleep on the couch waiting for the two of us to drive him to school." Vic explained the perfectly rehearsed lie to Barakat for what felt like the hundredth time. Barakat rolled his eyes, shaking his head.

"Nope, I refuse to believe it! You two were so up to something!" He said, before turning his attention to his boyfriend, who was sitting beside and starting up a conversation with him. Vic and I shared a look, both of our eyes filled with amusement. But before either of us could say anything to one another, Jaime spoke getting all of our attention.

"Oli's back." He whispered, making all of our heads turn to the direction Jaime was looking in. And sure enough, there was Oliver Skyes, the guy who was supposed to be suspended. He gave us an obviously sarcastic smile, walking over to the table, his friends following closely behind, including Matt Kean. I looked at Justin, who was sitting clenching his jaw, and holding Sarah's hand. I made a mental note to ask what was going on between them later today.

"Well, well. What is going on here?" Oli asked once he got to our table. All of the conversations at our table came to a complete stop, as we waited for one of us to answer. Finally, Vic stood up from his place next to me.

"I thought you were suspended Oli." He said, his voice full of disinterest. The mention of his suspension only made Oli grin more, this time a hint of realness in it.

"Oh, that? I got it removed, dad got some favors. Now, what is going on with this table? The losers sitting with you? Never thought you'd stoop that low Vic." He said, tisking. Vic's eyes narrowed into a glare as he looked at the british man in front of our table.

"Oli, let's get something straight. You, need to back the fuck off these guys. They're apart of my group now, just as everyone else at this table is. You mess with them, you mess with me."

Oli stared at him, hatred burning in his eyes. He sent a glance around the table, looking at all of my friends. He grinned, "This'll be fun." He said, before walking away from the table, leaving us all confused.
