Chapter Four-

Kellin's POV

The next day, I was still a little freaked out over what happened with Vic the other day, but I was hoping he would be over that and would not bug me about it. It wasn't that I was mad or annoyed he was paying attention to me, after all, I was crushing on him! But still, after having not been friends with him at all, it was weird, and freaked me out, that he, Popular Vic, was talking to me. His voice even had a flirty tone to it. I was pretty sure I was imagining that part though. After all, he was straight as a pole.

I groaned, as I walked to school by myself. Justin and Matty had already left, and I was on my way to get a ride from Jesse, since he lived pretty close. The other day, we all had to walk because everyones car was being used, or wasn't working, I didn't have my own so I just got rides from the others, not that they seemed to mind.

I was trying to shake what happened with Vic out of my head so I wouldn't accidentally slip and let Jesse know what happened. I didn't even understand what happened yet. I just excepted things would be back to the way they were before yesterday, normal, safe normal.

I sighed, stopping in front of the familiar house that was Jesse Lawson's house. I had to stop thinking about Vic. I walked to the front door of Jesse's house, and before I could even ring the door bell, he opened the door, the same old Jesse grin he always had. "Sup, Kel." He said, shutting the door behind him as we walked to his car. I grinned.

"Sup." We were silent for a few more minutes until he started up the engine.

"You gonna tell me what happened yesterday to make you leave lunch so early?" Jesse asked, his eyes on the road. My eyes eyes widened ever so slightly, as I turned to look at him in surprise. No one had mentioned anything about me leaving lunch early yesterday. Jesse looked at me for a second in the mirror, before looking back at the road. "Vic left minutes after you did. Anything happen?" He asked.

I bit my lip. Should I tell him? It's not that big a deal, I mean, it should be back to normal right? As long as I don't look at him again. "Well, Vic just followed me out, and accused me of starring at him.. And when I said I didn't he was acting all playful.. Maybe flirtatious.." I said, shrugging my shoulders, before sneaking a look at Jesse, who seemed mildly surprised, but only mildly.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he was." Jesse said causally, keeping his full attention on the road. What the hell did that mean? My face must have asked for me, cause Jesse said, "He just seems the type to be gay, you know." He said, shrugging his shoulders casually. I stared at him wide eyed. Was he saying Vic maybe crushing on me?! I shook my head, scoffing.

"Yeah right! No. Mr. High And Powerful can NOT be gay." I said shaking my head. As much as I tried to imagine it, I could not imagine that. He was too perfect, as stereotypical as that sounds. He was your everyday American Boy! The guy who had no flaw. He ran the god damn school. He wasn't gay, was he? No, he just couldn't be. Jesse sighed, shaking his head as his eyes drifted to me for a second.

"I guess we'll find out." He said, his eyes going back to the road. We didn't say anything the rest of the way to school. We just listened to the radio until we got there. When we did, I got out of the car, muttering a thanks and waving, before running off to class, hoping to not run into one Oli's "mates". But then again, luck rarely was ever on my side. Because just as I thought I would, I ran into Josh Franceschi, Oli's right hand man. I gulped, backing away from him. He gave me a grin.

"Why, hello." He said, a sinter tone in his voice. I tried running away, honestly, I really did, but Josh was way stronger then I ever was. He pushed me against the locker, holding me up by my collar. "Oli said he had some unfinished business with you, Quinn." He said, a smirk on his lips. I wanted to roll my eyes, but I knew that would only get me in more trouble.

He grinned at me, before punching me square in the jaw. I winced, but didn't make any noise, as usual. I was always dead silent when this happened. Talking back or making any noise really would make everything oh so much worse.

"I swear, your pathetic." Josh said, shaking his head, before he moved his arm back, prepared to throw another punch. I closed my eyes, preparing for it, but it never came, but the sound of a voice who had been causing me so much confusion spoke did.

"Let him go Franceschi." I heard Vic say, and I opened my eyes, seeing that Vic was standing there, his own hand around Josh's, preventing him from throwing any punches. Josh made some weird growl in the back of his throat, pushing me against the locker harder, then letting go of my collar.

I heard the bell go off, signaling I was going to be late, but I didn't run to class like I normally would've, because this definitely was not normal. I watched as

Josh turned around to face Vic. "Why the hell do you care about what happens to this loser anyways, Fuentes!?" He asked, pointing at me.

I rolled my eyes. Really. The best these guys could come up with is loser? Vic narrowed his eyes at him and crossing his arms over his chest. I swear for a moment he glanced at me, sympathy in his eyes, and in a flash he was looking back at Josh, expressionless.

"Get. Lost Franceschi." He said, his eyes still narrowed at Josh. Josh spared a glance at me, his eyes full of hatred. He shook his head, before quickly walking away from me and Vic, and the crowd around quickly left as well, not wanting Vic to yell at them either. That's how much Vic scared everyone at this school. Vic's attention was now on me.

"Thanks, for that. Though it'll probably be worse now." I told him honestly, putting my backpack, which had fallen off in between the time Josh pushed me against the locker. Vic sighed, shrugging his shoulders.

"I won't let him." He said simply, a small, very small, smile playing on his lips. I raised an eyebrow at him, questioningly. He chuckled, faintly. "We can hang out if you want." He said, smiling now. I felt my eyes widen as I stared him. Was he serious?! Before yesterday, we had only talked once, in freshmen year for me.

But now, he was trying to be my friend. It was weird and honestly, I had no idea what to say.

"U-Um.. Okay.. Sure.."

Vic's POV

What the hell was I doing.

(Cliff hanger! Not my best chapter I'll admit! But! I have some interesting news on my personal life! If you know me a little, you should know I play guitar. I'm not really good, but! In my band class, I play clarinet, they said even if you don't know much about an instrument, you should join Jazz Band! I thought about it, and I know a little bit about guitar, so I asked if I could join. And the director said that I should join, I just have study a little about playing Jazz, then I could join next year in freshmen year! I'm so happy and excited! :D)
