Chapter Five-

Kellin's POV

I stared at Vic, who had a calm and blank expression on his face. He smiled at me, before pulling me along. "We're late." He said calmly, pulling me along with him to class. I still couldn't believe what was going on, though I knew I was going to come to terms with it sometime. What pulled me out of my shock was the electric shock that went through me when he took my hand, as cheesy as that sounds. It was enough to snap me out of whatever shock I had been, and I was now completely focused on what was going on.

We were in class, and everyone, most everyone, was staring at us. It was weird, the most popular guy in school, was talking to the loser. It was off I'd admit, but why did they have to stare at us? I thought to myself, shaking my head mentally.

Seriously, how come people can't mind their own business? The teacher stared at us, giving us looks that clearly said we were late, but that was she making this a one time exception. I sighed, before walking back and taking my normal seat in the back the class, and hearing the familiar chatter of the guys in front of me.

"Why the hell was Vic hanging out with that loser-?" "I heard he stood up for him against Josh too!" I rolled my eyes, beginning to block them out as usual, but then someone sat next to me. I raised my eyebrows at Vic.

He gave me a small smile, before turning his attention to the board in front of us. I was still utterly confused on what he was doing. Why talk to me, after all this time? It was just flat out weird, and he was surely gonna get shit from his friends about it, especially his little brother. He was known for being the bad ass, without even beating a lot of kids up, hardly any really. Imagine how well this was going to do over with him.

I tried to forget about those things, but it was kind of hard to with Vic sitting right by me, tapping his pencil against his desk. I sighed, near the end of the hour, thankful that it was almost time to go. I could not focus with Vic next to me, no matter how hard I tried. It was near impossible. During the last ten minutes of class, my eyes never left the clock.

Someone tapped on my shoulder, and I knew it was Vic. "The clock isn't going to move faster if you stare at it." He told me, a smirk evident in his voice. I rolled my eyes at him, but moved my eyes away from the clock, and turning to him. He chuckled, almost silently.

"Why are you talking to me?" I asked him quietly, looking back and forth between him and our teacher, making sure she didn't see us talking. Vic shrugged, and for a second, I thought I saw the kind pain you get from physical pain, in his eyes, but it was gone, just as fast as it came. I frowned, my eyes drifting to his shoulders, what was wrong with his shoulders?

"I figured, since you seemed like a cool person, there's no harm in hanging out with you." He said, obviously trying to pull my attention away from his shoulders, though my eyes still drifted back to them. I nodded, almost completely disregarding what he said completely.

"What's wrong with your shoulders?" I asked, raising my eyebrows. He looked at me, his eyes full of alarm for a second, but it was gone in a second, as he once again masked it. I frowned, what was wrong with him today?
