CHAPTER 22

The next days I started avoiding him. Not really avoiding but distancing myself to him. Sumasama pa rin naman ako sa kaniya but I make sure that it's only for a show. Iyon naman talaga ang purpose ng lahat ng ito. Kailangan ko nang tapusin 'to para masimulan ko na din ang healing process ng puso ko.

Oo, masakit dahil itinutulak ko ang lalaking mahal ko papunta sa ibang babae. Oo, mahirap pero ito ang dapat kong gawin. Maybe I can still save my heart from fully breaking apart. Besides, he's really not mine to begin with.

He's Angela's Brent... Not mine.

“Gie canteen lang muna kami,” paalam ni Rona at Sharmaine bago sila tumayo mula sa upuan nila.

I smiled then nod my head.
“Yeah, sure.”

“May ipapabili ka ba?” Tanong ni Sharmaine.

I shook my head at her. Hindi pa naman ako nagugutom. I'll just get my own food if ever that I will get hungry.

“Wala naman,” nakangiting sagot ko sa kanila.

After that I was left alone here in the table. Nandito kami ngayon nakatambay sa library dahil tahimik dito sa loob. Napatingin ako sa kabilang mesa ng marinig ang mahihinang tawa.

When I look on the other table I saw Angela also sitting in there with Zach beside her. They were both laughing while looking at the phone. I pursed my lips as I stared at them.

I sighed. I wonder about Zach's feeling regarding their situation right now? Among of all people in here, I think he will be the one who can understand me the most.

We both can't be loved back by the people we love. And it sucks a lot.

“Stop staring at him.”

Nagugulat akong napalingon sa may harapan ko at nakitang nakatayo na doon si Brent habang masama ang tingin sa akin. I pursed my lips then looked away.

“Why are you here?” I asked.

Tumaas ang kilay niya at saka naupo na sa upuan sa harapan ko. Sumulyap siya sa gawi nina Angela. Naitikom ko ang labi. Of course, she's here.

“You didn't eat your snacks,” he stated.

I stared at him for a moment before sighing.

“I'm not hungry,” simpleng sabi ko.

I took my phone out of my pocket and started tapping on it. Wala naman talaga akong gagawin sa cellphone ko. I'm just trying to divert my attention. Though it's really hard because I can feel his intense stares on me.

I cleared my throat and glance at him only to see him really staring at me intently. Agad din akong napaiwas ng tingin sa kaniya.

Napalingon ako muli sa gawi nina Angela ng marinig ko ang tunog ng upuan nila. I saw them already getting ready to leave the place. Zach is really careful with her. He even holds some of Angela's things.

Such a gentleman.

“Do you like him?”

Bahagyang umawang ang labi ko ng makitang nakatayo na sa may gilid ko si Brent. His brows were furrowed and he look annoyed. Napalunok ako at saka nag iwas ng tingin.

“Angiela,” he called.

“A-ano ba?” Nakasimangot na tanong ko.

He stared at me for a moment. “I said...do you like Zach?”

Natigilan ako at bahagyang umawang ang labi. What the hell is he talking about? Bakit ba lagi niya na lang naiisip na may gusto ako kay Zach?

“You're being weird,” naiiling na sabi ko.
