CHAPTER 35

“Birthday mo na bukas 'di ba?” Tanong ni Rona. “Buti na lang nakabili na ako ng damit na gagamitin ko. Guwapo ba 'yong kapartner ko, Gie?”

Tommorow is already my 18th birthday and we will be hosting a party tomorrow night since I still gave a class at the morning. Kasali si Rona at Sharmaine sa 18 candles ko.

Ngumiti ako at saka tumango. “Oo, bukas ng gabi. Don't be late.”

“Oo naman, kami pa ba,” nakangising sabi ni Rona. “Maraming pogi doon for sure.”

Natawa ako at saka naiiling na pinagpatuloy ang pagsusulat.

“Puro ka na lang guwapo,” sabi naman ni Sharmaine. “Hindi mo naman jinojowa.”

“Syempre kasi hindi naman nila ako nililigawan eh,” nakangusong sabi ni Rona. “Ayoko namang ako pa manligaw 'te.”

“Basta wag kayong malelate,” natatawang sabi ko.

Tumango naman si Sharmaine. “Uuwi ba si Shiela?”

I shook my head then sighed. Hindi makakauwi si Shiela kasi marami daw siyang tambak na school works ngayon. Sayang pa naman kasi debut ko. I was even planning to include her sa 18 shots.

“Hindi eh,” sabi ko. “Baka sa Christmas break pa 'yon makauwi.”

I excused myself and went to the bathroom. Saglit pa akong naghintay dahil puno ng tao ang CR. After that I went into the canteen to buy some food. I suddenly got hungry.

Wala masyadong estudyante dahil hindi pa naman talaga oras ng recess.

“One cheese burger and juice,” I said to the lady at the counter. “Thank you.”

I stood in there and waited for my order.

“Hey.”

Napalingon ako sa may gilid ko. I smiled when I saw Zach standing in there with both his hands on his pockets.

“Hi,” I said then slightly wave my hand. “How are you?”

“Fine,” he said then smiled. “How 'bout you? Tommorow is your birthday already.”

I raise my brows at him then smiled. “How did you know?”

He chuckled. “Rona's inviting me,” natatawang sabi niya.

I also chuckled. Si Rona talaga. “The party is tommorow night. Punta ka,” nakangiting sabi ko.

I was planning to add Zach in the 18 roses and dance but it was already planned and Mom doesn't want to make changes regarding it.

He nod his head. “Sure,” he said then slightly tap my shoulder. “I'll get going.”

I smiled. “See you.”

He only wave his hand before walking away.

“Thank you,” I said to the lady who gave my order.

I took the cheese burger and juice then started walking away. Bumalik na rin ako agad sa classroom dahil baka magsimula na rin ang klase. Habang naglalakad ay kinakain ko na ang binili ko dahil baka pagdating ko doon ay may klase na. It's not allowed to eat inside the classroom during the class.

Nang makauwi ako sa bahay ay busy na si Mommy sa pag-organize ng party. Kapapasok ko pa lang ng kwarto ay nakasunod na agad siya sa akin para papiliin ako ng gown na isusuot ko bukas ng gabi.

“You need to choose two gowns to wear tommorow night,” Mom said then put the sample designs on my study table.

I sighed then nod my head. “Yes Mom. I'll just get change first.”
