Part 4 of 5: A long time coming. This chapter gave me a lot of issues, to be honest. I couldn't get it to come out just right. I'm not 100% happy with it, but I hope it lives up to what you all want to see.

POV: Y/N

The coronation seemed to take forever and go by in the blink of an eye all at the same time. I had been planning and waiting for this day for years. I had always imagined watching my brother take the oath I had just taken. It was official now. I, the Spare, had taken the throne.

"Long Live The Queen." the Arch-Bishop of Canterbury spoke, as the ceremony finished. The crowd echoed the words.

At that moment I was both exhausted and exhilarated at the same time. I was quickly swept into the royal carriage and began the journey back to the castle. As I relaxed in the carriage, I felt my phone vibrate. I had smuggled it into my uniform pocket.

I smiled down at the text I had just gotten.

Rach: You look rather dashing in that uniform, Y/N.

Me: I look better in my favorite football jersey.

Rach: I won't argue with that. I'm sorry I wasn't there. My flight leaves tomorrow.

Me: I know, Rach, it's ok. I can't wait to see you.

Rach: I have something for you, but you will just have to wait until I get to see you to find out what it is.

Me: not even a hint?

Rach: No, babe, not even a hint. I got to go, I'll call you before I board the flight. I love you.

Me: I love you too, Rach, be safe.

I sighed, straightening myself in my seat and going back to waving at the gathered crowds. It took four hours to get back to the palace, despite it being a kilometer away from the Abbey.

By the time I actually laid down in bed, I was completely exhausted, mentally and physically.

"Mum, Dad, George... I hope you are proud of the woman I've become... and I hope that you will guide me in the decisions I must make as Queen." I whispered to the air, wishing for a sign that they heard me.

POV: Rachel Daly

My flight landed an hour ago and I dropped my things at my London flat. I grabbed the box that contained my surprise for Y/N. The season was over, the final had been played and MVPs selected.

Y/N had won "Goalie Of The Year" and the league, knowing I would be headed back home, asked me to deliver it. There was another piece to the surprise, but that was a bit more personal. I got a text from Y/N saying that there was a car down stairs that would bring me to the palace. I smiled, she must have tracked my flight and sent the car to gather me.

Getting into the car, I sent a few texts to my national teammates regarding getting together for dinner later on in the week. As I got a few answers back, the car pulled to a stop and the door opened. I was helped out of the car and one of the guards stepped forward, taking the box from my hands.

"Please don't break that." I spoke softly.

"Just need to check it over, before you bring it inside, Lady Daly." the guard answered, looking into the box and nodding. He shut the box once more and handed it back to me. "Marcus is waiting just inside for you."
