POV: Third Person
The stadium was silent as the two players laid still on the turf. They had gone up for a header, only to meet head to head, both crumpling to the ground unmoving. Finally one moved, sitting up slightly and looking around. She seemed fine, the trainers helping her off the field. The other was quietly loaded onto a stretcher and taken away quickly.
The game was delayed for a few more minutes, to give everyone a moment to collect themselves, but eventually continued, ending in a tie that disappointed both teams.

POV: Kristie Mewis
My heart dropped as Whit was stretched off the pitch, completely still and lifeless. The only sign that she was still alive was the steady rise and fall of her chest. Sonny came to my side and wrapped an arm around me.
"Whit is the toughest kid I know, K-Mew. She's gonna be ok. She took harder hits in pee-wee as a kid." She whispered to me.
"MEWIS, SONNETT!" The coach called us over to the bench. He quickly got the fielded team gathered and calmed down. "Mini-Sonnett will be fine. One of the athletic trainers went to the hospital with her. They said she is awake. Let's just handle the game, focus here on the field." The rest of the team headed back to their spots. "Mewis, Sonnett, I've arranged for the two of you to be taken directly to the hospital after the game. For now, just focus on the game."
The two of us nodded, looking at each other for a moment. Sonny pulled me into a hug and the two of us stood quietly, before Coach cleared his throat.
"Game..."
The last 20 minutes of the game went by in the blur. Sonny and I were whisked away by one of the trainers to the local hospital and escorted directly to Whit's hospital room.
The doctor stopped the two of us at the door.
"Ms. Sonnett, Ms. Mewis, a word before you go in?" The doctor pulled the two of us into a small room next to Whit's room. "First off, let me assure you, Whit is currently awake and doing as well as can be expected. However, she does have a concussion that has caused a slight issue."
"What issue?" Sonny asked, and I could feel her anxious energy.
"It seems her concussion has caused some memory loss. We aren't sure exactly how much time has been lost at this point, so I would suggest that Ms. Sonnett enters first to see exactly how much she can figure out."
My stomach rolled at the idea that she was missing memories. We had been dating for quite a while, and I wondered exactly how much she had forgotten. Sonny led the way into the room and Whit's eyes lit up at the sight of Sonny. The two seemed to stare at each other for a few moments before Whit noticed me.
"Hi." She seemed shy, something I was unsure of. "You... you are Kristie Mewis."
"Yeah." I nodded, a bit more hopeful. "How are you feeling?"
"My head hurts." She whispered, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. "Hey, sis. Can I talk to you for a second?"
Sonny looked at me for a moment, as if asking me to step outside. I nodded, a lump in my throat. "I'll just go grab a bottle of water or something. Sonny, I'll grab you a gatorade."
I didn't wait for confirmation before I left the room.

POV: Emily Sonnett
I watched as K.Mew left the room, a tightness sitting in my chest.
"What's up, Mini-Sonnett?" I asked, sitting on the chair next to her bed.
