ROYAL FINALE!!!!

A Long Time Coming, honestly. This is the finale of this one-shot (turned 5-shot) series.

Enjoy!

----------------------------------

POV: Y/N

The week following the engagement was filled with meeting upon meeting regarding the future. As I finished the Royal box, I noticed a letter on my desk. I recognized the handwriting on the envelope, and my heart started pounding.

"Marcus..." I called, knowing the man was hovering near my office door. He entered quietly, but my eyes never left the envelope. "What's this?"

He cleared his throat and motioned to one of the chairs across the desk from me. I nodded and he sank into the chair.

"Can I speak openly, Your Highness?" He asked.

"Please do Marcus."

"While you were playing in America, something happened. The details of what happened are in the letter, but what you need to to understand before you read it, is that the letter from your father." He spoke softly, looking at me. "He also wrote one to Rachel, which I have and will give to her after you have read yours."

I nodded, taking in his words. My father wrote me a letter, wrote Rachel a letter. I tried to think of a time where the two of them had met, outside of brief meetings at games.

"My advice, read the letter." Marcus spoke up, standing. "I'll go grab Ms. Rachel, for you."

"Hold off on that for the moment. Let me read the letter first." I picked up the envelope and traced the lettering of my own name, written in my father's handwriting. Taking a breath, I opened the letter and let my eyes fall to the words.

--------------------

Beloved Daughter,

I am so proud of the woman you have become, Y/N. You have become such a strong woman, an amazing football player, and now, a loving wife. By now, you have been told, by either myself or Marcus, that you married your girlfriend, Rachel. How the marriage happened is not important. Your mother and I are proud of you, Y/N.

Ever since meeting Rachel for the first time, your mum knew that she was the one for you. Rachel makes you happier than even playing football did. Seeing the two of you interact, made my heart lighter. Both your mother and I approve of her, she's perfect for you.

As your Father, I have but one request. When you come home after this season, please allow your Mother and I to announce your marriage properly. I would love nothing more than to walk my baby girl down the aisle, and offer personal blessing to your union. Perhaps a vow renewal, to allow your marriage to be blessed by the church.

Some advice for you, dear one, for married life. You will argue, there is no chance of escaping that. Do not go to bed angry, when you fight, take a moment to breathe, then discuss it. Communicate, always, about everything. Always make time for each other, even if it's only a moment over tea to talk about your day. You are stronger together.

With all my love and pride,

Your Father

I could feel the tears falling down my face. My father was proud of me, something that we never really talked about. My mind went back to the whole purpose of the letter.
