Eddie: Who is this?
Unknown: ... This is Eddie kaspbrak right?
Eddie: Yes, and you are?
Unknown: Srsly, it's Richie-
Eddie: Oh! I'm srry, hey Rich
Richie: Hey Eds, how is my lovely spaghetti on this fine day?
Eddie: Don't call me that
Richie: Eds or mine?
Eddie: Both.
Richie: Just trying to lighten the mood sweetheart
Eddie: Sweetheart? Seriously?
Richie: My sweetheart ❤
Eddie: I'm leaving...
Richie: No don't leave me Eds!
Eddie: I got to go, I'll talk to you later Rich
Richie: Bye Eddie Bear! ❤
Eddie put his phone down sighing, Richie was a weird kid. Was he trying to flirt with him? Eddie had heard countless rumours of Richie being gay, but he didn't believe it until Richie himself had called him sweetheart. Of course, Eddie wasn't gay, he was taught liking boys was a sin, and he promised his mama he'd never sin.
Richie was one of Eddie's first friends, besides the rest of Richie's friends who seemed generally nice, especially Beverly marsh, who seemed too pretty and nice to be labelled as a 'loser'.
Eddie heard his mum downstairs, she had just gotten back from the grocery store and was shoving the food into different shelves judging by all the banging sounds. Eddie plugged his headphones in to block out the noise and sat down on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. He hummed the lyrics to his favourite song and eventually, his eyes fluttered shut, falling asleep as the sun shone through his window.
