29 - Graduation

During Graduation

The losers had been running around Bill's house trying to get ready for Graduation, whilst they left thousands of phone calls and messages for Eddie and Richie. 

"Fuck, where are they!?" Bev cursed, trying to apply her makeup as Stan ran in and out the room frantically. 

"I don't know, I thought they'd be back by now!"  

The group were panicking, but eventually were re-assured by Mrs Uris who had left a voicemail for the couple and informed the losers she gave them their graduation Robes to wear if they were late back. 

Bev finished her makeup as Stan and Bill came out with their tuxedos and Ben ironed his bow tie, making Bev laugh at how fancy he was trying to be. 

"Ok guys, we should get going". 

The losers, minus Richie and Eddie. All barged into Mrs Uris's car and headed to their school for their graduation. The car was loud, Bev and Stan were constantly checking on Eddie and Richie whilst Bill and Ben were trying to come them down. 

Eventually, they arrived, getting out of the car and making sure their robes looked ok they headed off to the big hall. 

The group made their way inside, Stan and his mum chatting to each other. Whenever bill hung back the two got quieter, it was weird. 

The losers were still worrying about Richie and Eddie, the graduation ceremony had started and they were nowhere to be seen. 

Eventually, one by one the losers made their way onto the stage and gave their speech, lastly, it got to Stanley. 

By this point, the losers were panicking and anxious since Stan was the last pupil in their grade to graduate and still Eddie and Richie hadn't shown up. 

Mrs Uris had gone outside with a look of panic on her face. The losers wanted to follow her but Stanley was making his speech, he invited Bill onto the Stage. 

Bill was confused, he walked up beside Stanley, looking at his boyfriend with a smile. 

"Bill..." Stanley started, getting down on one knee as he pulled out a box with a ring. 

The audience gasped, especially the other losers. Bill's mouth hung open in shock, has happy tears formed in his eye. 

"I love you so much Bill Denbrough, you are the light in my life. You know if Richie was here he'd bully me big time for this". 

The losers and Bill laughed, 

"Were only 18 but I love you more than anything, you've made me so happy Billy, will you marry me?" Stan finished, looking up at his boyfriend. 

Bill smiled, nodding "Of c- course S- Stanny!" He shouted, wrapping his arms around Stan's neck as they hugged. 

The losers clapped and the ceremony finished, the group congratulating Stan and Bill. 

Then they remembered, their two friends. They never showed up, even Sonia. Eddie's crazy mother was at the graduation, she had left early with Maggie Tozier which worried the group even more. 

"We need to find my mum", Stan said as the losers went outside to find Mrs Uris sobbing with her phone in her hand. 

The group ran up to her with fear in their eyes as Stan hugged his mum. 

"What happened?" 

Mrs Uris looked at the losers, choking on a sob. 

"It's Richie and Eddie..." 

The loser's eyes widened, Bev felt a tear fall from her cheek as she hugged Ben. 

"I got a phone call from Maggie Tozier. She said the boys were in a terrible car crash. It... It fucked up their memory. The two can't remember anything besides their names, age and parents. Everything else is a blur..." 

Mrs Uris said, her eyes filled with tears. Richie had been like a second son to her and it broke her heart to hear this had happened to him. 

"W- We should go visit them in the hospital, right?" Beverly asked, crying. 

Mrs Uris shook her head, "They won't know you, Sweetheart". 

"W- We sh- should still b- be there for them!" Bill said, raising his voice. 

"Maggie said since Richie's nearly 19 he'll be moving to New York, away from his family. she overheard Sonia is sending Eddie to his Aunt and Uncle's in California, I'm sorry". 

The group fell silent. They had lost two members of the losers club, all because they went on a date. It was a sad day for all of them, as they sat at Stan's house tasting alcohol for the first time in their lives.
