Eddie had waited hours, it had been a day and the losers probably had no idea where he was. He felt weak, he felt like he would never see Richie again, but honestly, he didn't care. So many experiments had been done on him he felt his feelings become numb, he could barely tell what love was, he knew he loved Richie but if he wasn't saved fast it could all slip away forever.
Eddie sat in the dark, against a wall. The doctors had gone to experiment on the other kids, good kids who deserved better than this. Better than to be broken down and tortured, nobody deserved to be treated this way.
Eddie knew Richie loved him but he was more scared than ever, he was scared to even think about Richie. He felt as if the doctors could read his mind and if a boys name even showed up they'd hurt him.
"Hello?" A quiet voice came from behind Eddie, he turned to look at a short bald girl looking at him curiously.
She wasn't much taller than Eddie, still considered short to everyone else. She had a hospital gown on, but all her hair was shaved off, only a thin layer covered her head. She was thin, possibly thinner than Eddie, She looked like she had been starved.
"Who are you?" Eddie asked, the girl went silent
"I'm... Eddie, Eddie Kaspbrak".
Eddie introduced himself, holding out a hand to the strange girl. She looked at his hand then back up at him, she was shaking, the poor girl was probably cold and injured.
"I'm el, short for eleven", She said with a whisper.
Eddie found the name unusual, who names their kid Eleven? Did she have 10 other siblings and they all got named numbers? It was odd, and Eddie couldn't figure it out. He looked at El again, she looked different from the rest of the patients. It's like she didn't have anything to fight for, unlike everyone else who was brainwashed to forget.
"Are you... g- gay?" Eddie asked, whispering the gay as so not alert doctors.
El wore a confused expression, it confused Eddie even more. Maybe she wasn't even aware why she was here, how bad had they hurt her?
El shook her head, "Papa said I was ill".
Eddie felt bad for El, she couldn't remember the truth. She wasn't ill, none of them was.
"I know I'm not... the doctors think they've won, but I know I'm a girl".
Eddie looked at her, she was transgender. That explains why the doctors had cut all her hair off, and she had been starved, probably forced away from her hormonal pills and got less food.
Just then, a nurse came in. Grabbing Eddie and Elevens arms, Eddie had given up but El fought. She squirmed and kicked at the nurse, Eddie just stood there, willing to be taken. He felt bad for El, he knew he wasn't ill but he felt like maybe he was. Maybe he was ill, maybe Richie didn't love him. Maybe love isn't real.
Eddie and El were put into separate rooms, in Eddies was a girl. Not much older than him, she looked lifeless, being ordered around by the doctors. In El's room was stereotypical boy clothes and items, and signs telling her being trans was wrong.
Eddie was scared, the doctors had put a shock bracelet on him. They kept hurting him, the girl pinned him against the wall. Eddie wanted to cry, he was gay. He didn't like girls, but the doctors were forcing her to do this, forcing him to get over his homosexuality.
