Richie put his phone back in his pocket and angrily cycled to Eddie's house. Honestly, he didn't know what he was going to say. He was angry and just wanted to let it out, he needed Eddie to know it was wrong and that he was gay. Because if Eddie really hates gay people that much then maybe they shouldn't be friends.
Even though it's the last thing Richie wants he knows deep down he can't hide his anger, he's never been good at that. Sadness, the depression he can cover that up, but Anger? that's his weakness.
Richie soon arrived at Eddie's house, he had figured out where he lived in a game on the group chat where Eddie stupidly put his home address and telephone number for some reason, Richie was laughing and mocking Eddie for it, but at the same time had copied down the address, just in case.
Richie dropped his back, walking up the path to Eddie's door. Suddenly it felt too real, what was he going to say. Was he just going to shout and leave? Would Eddie hurt him?
His hand raised, tapping lightly on the door then eventually getting harder.
Soon Eddie appeared opening the door, "I said climb in my window remember? Be glad my mum's not ho-"
Richie interrupted him, shoving past and standing in the hallway of Eddie's house. Eddie was confused and just looked at Richie, Richie looked back and grabbed Eddie's wrist walking upstairs with the shorter boy being dragged behind. The two went into Eddie's room and Richie sat Eddie down and took a deep breath.
"I heard everything". Richie said
Eddie wore a confused look, he turned to the boy, "What?"
"Everything you said to Bowers! that you hate gay people! t- that liking a boy is a crime!" Richie held back tears, clenching his fists.
Eddie cursed under his breath, Richie must have come looking for him during English and heard, he didn't truly mean it. He didn't know, he was raised to think it and he was scared of Bowers. Honestly, he didn't know if he was straight or gay.
"Richie let me explain ple-"
"I'm gonna stop you right there Eds! Before you continue to go any further. I am gay! or maybe Bi, I don't completely know. All I do know is that I like boys, part of me always has and I won't let my best friend think of me as a sinner because of it!"Eddie felt horrible, not only did Richie find what he said horrible but he felt like it was directed at him. Of course, even if it wasn't it was still a horrible thing to say, but all Eddie could feel was guilt, he wanted to give Richie a hug but instead, he just stood there with his mouth hanging open.
"Well!? Am I really that horrible to you Eddie!?" Richie shouted, shoving Eddie back, making his head hit the window cill.
Eddie let out a cry of pain as he fell to the ground, rubbing his head and letting tears spill from his face.
Fuck. Richie thought, kneeling down beside the boy. He hated seeing Eddie hurt, and it was his fault, he had pushed Eddie and hurt him. Now he was crying because of his actions, he fucked up big time.
"Richie I didn't mean it! I was raised to think it, my mum used to tell me all those things. That liking boys is a crime and a sin, that I can't dress in 'girly' clothes and that a boy should never wear makeup. I don't believe her, honestly, I don't know my sexuality but I don't think being gay is a crime, I was just... scared. Scared to think what Bowers would've done to me if I said I was!"
Eddie practically screamed, clenching his fists and in almost an angry tone. He was partially made at Richie, considering the fact he had barged in, shouted at him than hurt him.
All he knew is that he didn't want to lose Richie, he was a good friend and wanted their friendship to last.
Richie sighed, "Fuck. I'm sorry Eds".
He helped the smaller boy up and took him downstairs, trying to find something cold to put on Eddie's head. The two stayed quiet and Richie pulled a bag of frozen pee's out of the fridge and laid it on the back of his head. He stayed still until Eddie spoke up.
"I should be apologising, what I said was very rude Rich. But I hope we can still be friends?"
Richie smiled, spinning Eddie round and putting down the ice-pack. He looked at the boy for a moment, remembering the freckles he counted during English. His eyes that looked like lagoon water he could swim in four hours and his salmon pink lips. Richie couldn't help but stare for a little longer than he should. He realised Eddie had been trying to get his attention and snapped out of it.
"What you looking at?" Eddie asked, a small smirk on his face.
Richie blushed, moving a piece of hair from Eddie's forehead and looking into his eyes. He hugged Eddie tight, whispering "I'll always be your friend Eds".
Eddie hugged back tighter, not wanting to let go of Richie. He was so glad he didn't lose him and promised himself to be careful with his words. AND avoid Bowers at all costs, he didn't need another run-in with him."Wanna watch a movie since your here?" Eddie asked, letting go and smiling up at Richie.
The taller boy smiled, nodding "Sure".
The two decided to put on Hamilton and curled up together on the couch, with Eddie laying against Richie's stomach, with his arms around the tallboys waist smiling happily.
Richie pulled out his phone at one point to take a picture and posted it on his Instagram.
