Two days later, in California

Eddie Kaspbrak had arrived in California where he was greeted by his Aunt, Uncle and two of their children. One was 5 and the other was 18, the same age as Eddie.

He had been welcomed with open arms and immediately moved in, he had started to unpack his bags when he found a letter at the bottom of a box labelled, 'Things from Derry'.

Eddie sat on his bed, he read the front and remembered it was the letter from the mysterious Richie Tozier with who he had been in the car crash. The letter must have been from before the accident when they were friends.

Eddie opened the envelope, he unfolded the letter and started to read it.

'Dear Eddie,

I'm planning to give you this letter after our graduation, honestly, I was never sure I'd even show you it but hopefully you reading this now.

I love you so much Ed's, you are an amazing boyfriend and I've known we've had our up's and downs but we stuck together and I'm so happy we did. You probably think I'm a sap right now, but don't worry, Staniel helped me write this.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for being there with me Ed's, through everything, even my dark phase when I didn't want to face another day.

One day I'm going to marry you because I know that there is no other person I would rather spend my life with.

From, Richie 'Trashmouth' Tozier.'

Eddie felt a tear in his eye as he finished reading the letter. He and this Richie boy used to date? They were boyfriends, and that accident made them both forget everything. It filled Eddie's heart with guilt, he wished he had tried to talk to Richie. Maybe they would've remembered, but then again. Eddie realised that he shouldn't keep thinking about it, he had a new life now and that's all that matters.

Eddie took Richie's letter and put it in his desk drawer as he continued to unpack his boxes of clothing, his music playing in the background as he hummed to himself.
