Eddie and Richie sat in the hospital, neither of them would remember each other or their friends. Like they had been re-born eighteen.

Eddie's mother hadn't made a huge fuss, she was more upset he was in a car with Richie than the fact he'd gotten hurt.

Whilst Maggie explained Richie was in a bad car crash, Richie felt sick. He couldn't remember anything and couldn't stop thinking about what had happened. He had flashbacks from the crash, but all he saw was the car and a hand holding his.

Eddie sees Richie sitting in the waiting room, he doesn't know he knows the boy but deep down he feels like he recognises him. That's when Eddie overhears the Nurse's telling Sonia what had happened.

"Your son was in a car accident with Richie Tozier, the two were driving into Derry when they collided with another Car. They both took damage to their heads, causing them to forget".

Then the nurse gave his mother an envelope, with the words,

'For my Eddie-Spaghetti'  on it.

"It was in your son's bag when we found the car, we thought he'd like to keep it. We've done everything we can, he's ready to go".

Eddie heard what the nurse said, he assumed the boy opposite him was the so-called Richie Tozier. What had they been doing? How much had he forgotten?

Two days later

Richie was packing to go to New York, he couldn't remember anything but he knew he wanted a fresh start. He didn't want to stay in a town where he had made memories he could never remember.

Whilst he was packing he noticed a picture sitting on his desk, he picked it up recognising the face.

It was the boy from the hospital, he and Richie were smiling in the photo. Richie was confused about who the boy was, he didn't even know his name, nor why he had him in a photo on his desk.

"Richie, your gonna miss the flight!" Maggie shouted from downstairs as Richie shoved the picture into his bag and got into the car, he rolled the window down, lighting a cigarette and placing it between his lips.

"Didn't you quit those for Ed-..." His mother stopped, trailing off the end of the sentence when she remembered Richie had forgotten all of this.

"What?" Richie asked, but his mother shrugged as he put out the cigarette and sighed, putting his headphones in as he left the small down of Derry.

Little did he know that the car behind him had a boy called Eddie Kaspbrak sitting in the seat, a boy who he had loved. They had been dating but neither of them remembered, and now. They'd never see each other again. One was going to New York and the other, California.
