Madeleine,
Madeleine continued his way down the street, mala and gummy in the distance, he was now close to espresso's House. He could see the mage's small house, at the end of his path.
It was almost like a scene from a fairy tale as he went towards the end of his journey with a skip in his step as always!. They say knights don't skip. But Madeleine most definitely does, and he's definitely not ashamed of it either. He was a little kid on his way back from school, cheeks rosey with a bright smile. Not knowing what waited for him at espressos house, he finally came to his door with one last happy skip. He gave three knocks on the coffee coloured door.
Knock, knock, knock!
The door squeaked open, and smoke filled the air!. It was dark and muggy and seem to drain away madelines happy demeanour.... this was more like stepping into a horror flick! A dusty figure came from the steam. Glasses shining as they hit the sun,
" what are you doing here?" Espresso greeted with a frown,
Madeleine was still taken back from all the smoke that had just left espressos house. He knew espresso delt with coffee magic but he had never seen anything like this before! " wellll... I... ehhhmm" He stammered, his words all over the place. His mind went blank all of a sudden.
" I came to check on you!" He announced, finally remembering himself why he was standing at espressos doorstep.
Espresso gave a notable grone..and an eye roll..." alright... you may come in... " before Espresso could even finish. Madeleine took the chance to step inside the house. Before the mage could change his mind.
Espresso begrudgingly closed the door behide Madeleine, " is something burning in here?" ,Madeleine asked, still remembering the smoke, even the inside of the house seemed steamy.
Espresso gave a whipe of his glasses, and gave a courageous look around as if hadn't noticed himself. " I've been experimenting" He said with a shrug as he headed towards his lab once more, leaving Madeleine by the doorside.
With this, Madeleine began to follow the mage once more.. much like yesterday. It was like a case of deja vu, madeline followed in his footsteps ever so slightly behide him. " do you need any help with anything?" Madeleine eyed espressos banned arm, as he offered. He knew the mage was still hurt from the battel and if espresso wasn't going to take care of himself then who was?
Espresso screeched to a hult. And whipped his head around in surprise and swiftness " No!" Espresso snapped!!
Thus made the Knight disheartened for a moment... he lowered his head and stood awkwardly for a moment... but espresso didn't stop with what he was doing for a moment. He just turned back around and into his lab. Graping a ladder by one of his bookshelves he began to climb...
Just as he was a step up, madeline looked back up again. He wasn't about to give up! Just as espresso reached the second step. He felt a jolt! From behide him. Almost knocking him from the ladder! " atleast let me help you with the ladder my friend!" Madeleine insisted, now behide espresso. Holding the bottom of the ladder with such glee!
" Madeleine..." Espresso began with a angry and annoyed look in his eye... this made him nervous. Perhaps he had pushed to far? Madeleine worried. He just wanted to help but espresso didn't see to want to accept it....
Espresso,
Espresso gave a Sigh... and looked down. Seeming more calm now. In his mind he knew it would be best to just let Madeleine help him then stand here bickering out it. Fighting with the stubborn Knight would only losse more actual valuable time...
" fine..." He sighed once more and turned to focus on the ladder ahead of him. As Madeleine held it still. Espresso slowly climbed to the top... he reached out at his highest point! Stretching from the ladder to fetch a book from one of the higher shelves. " be careful espresso!" Madeleine called to him....
Espresso simply ignored him.. he almost... had it now! He reached just to reach a bit further!
the ladder had started to shake! Madeleine tried to keep it steady but trufuly he really was't helping the situation... seeing espresso even reaching for one of his books made the Knight secretly nervous.. especially when espresso' arm was in a such a bad way...
Madeleine's hands became sweaty. As espresso stood on tip toe for the last stretch. Pulling the book out now.... and
SLIP!
Right as espresso grabbed the book. The ladder under him gave way! He started to fall off! Book in hand!
Things seem to happen in slow motion for him, but Madeleine acted as quick as a flash! Going on pure instinct he reached and caught espresso!! A few pages tumbled on top if them from the sudden shake! Espresso had closed his eye's. Bracing for the impact of the floor!
But that impact never came.., no... once more he felt the soft and strong embrace from yesterday.. which at this point he knew was Madeleine...
He opend his eye's up again. And Saw the Knight looking down at him again, he seemed to have caught him almost bridle style! Espresso arm had been flug across his back...
There it was again... thought espresso. Those piecing blue eye's! Looking right through him. And the same thought as before jumped into his mind..
Why???... why was Madeleine looking at him like that again??
Madeleine,
He face went hot once more! His knees bent slightly as he caught espresso mid air! As the mage locked eyes with his a warm feeling sured through the knights body! Without him knowing he was probably as pink as a peach!
" Madeleine?" Espresso said, softly almost a whisper...
Hearing him say his name God! What was Madeleine even thinking!? He didn't even know anymore! His mind didn't feel like his own! His thoughts were still but his heart raced more! As espresso looked into his eye's.
" yes? Espresso??" Madeleine answered, it was almost like a sweet coo.
" put me down...." Wait what!?!? Madeleine snapped out of the trance he seemed to be in. One moment he was helping espresso and then.. well all he could remember next was falling deeply into the mage beautiful brown eyes....
BEAUTIFUL!? he panicked! Coming back in the moment, " oh Right!" He stumbled. Putting espresso down carefully.... " I... ehhhh... sorry" He said, blushing more, he tured his face away from him. And graped at the ends of his long hair for comfort from the mage bold and bewitching gaze,
What kind of spell is this? Madeleine wondered to himself, his thoughts racing along with the buttflies in his stomach. What Madeleine was going through he couldn't describe.... he felt like a golden drop of sunlight! And it all seemed to stem from the man in front of him... Madeleine was so confused. All he could think about how this mustn't be real? He gave a quick glance back over with his eye's.
Espresso was still standing there.. what seemed like forever to Madeleine had actually been seconds in real life!
