"I can not believe you got me on a damn girls trip in September!" I screamed in Riva's ear as we held on to eachother on the back of the Jet Ski. She'd somehow convinced me to pack up my bags and leave my kids with my mom to come out to New Orleans for Labor Day weekend.

"Bitch my titties bout to pop out this vest ahhhh!" She shouted back dramatically as the jet ski took a swift turn in the water and I laughed before joining her in the scream.

"Oh my God that was so much fun!" I laughed full of thrill as we pulled off our life vests. Riva half twerked as she pulled hers off making me laugh more and as we watched the other girls scream in the distance now having their turn on the bikes we both cheered.

"Girl we needed this damn trip. All the shit you been going through, my shit with work. We need to let our hair down." Riva had just been cut from one of the shows she was meant to begin filming for this week, and to get her mind off it she set up the trip as a way to heal from the disappointment. One thing about Riv, she was gone party some shit off. I on the other hand had been in a messy back and forth with Chris over the past week leading up to the trip. He didn't like the idea of my mom watching the kids alone, she and I had been on great terms over the past year and I was in a good enough place with her to where I trusted her to care for my children in my absence.

Mama J was on a cruise with her man till the end of the year and Neesha had way too much on to be watching 5 small children by herself, so the only sensible option was my mother, and I hated Chris' disdain towards the idea. My mom was a lot of things, but she'd never hurt my kids. I suppose Chris didn't know her the way I did now, all he had to go off was our past and how shitty of a mother she was back then, but he of all people should be sensitive to the fact that people grow, and the I would never put our kids in harms way.

Anyway, they were with my mom because he realistically couldn't do shit about it while he was half way around the world.

"I know dats right!" I said back watching as India and Shaniece's jet ski pulled in.

"Ya'll crazy as hell, I ain't doing that shit again" India said clearly out of breath from screaming in fear for 10 minutes and we all laughed. I'd met Shaniece a while ago from just hanging out in LA and she was always cool, India was Riva's friend but we hit it off almost instantly. When Riva suggested we all take the trip together i didn't protest, they were all fun.

"You so country I can't" Riva laughed as we all moved into our guest house, we'd been doing watersports all afternoon.

"Whatever, that's the last time I do that on this trip bitch. Anyway! What time the mens get here?!" India shouted excitably and I paused mid-move and turned to Riva with the bottle of 1942 and shot glasses in my hand.

"Men?" I asked in her direction and turned my mouth up as she tried to play innocent.

"Oo girl I didn't tell you I invited some guys down here?" She said trying to act dumb and I rolled my eyes finally setting the drink down.
