It had been over a week since I came back to LA, and i'd spent every day with the kids. I had tried to limit my time around Kam after our slip-up. I couldn't defend it and honestly it only fucked us up more.
I felt terrible, both for how i'd treated her, and how i'd been so quick to step out on Mani. It wasn't my intention and really I should've backed off the moment she got too close, but I didn't and I was 100% at fault.
"Morning." I said when Mani joined me in my kitchen, she got back to LA yesterday. I watched her move into the kitchen, her small feet dragging slightly as she came up and wrapped her arms around me from behind and she placed a sweet kiss on my back.
"Morning babe. You made breakfast?" She said in her morning rasp, and I turned in her arms to look down at her and nodded before leaning down to peck her then pulled back.
"Pancakes. Eggs. and Bacon." I said between pecks and she smiled sweetly, her brown skin glistening from the sun that protruded through my glass ceiling.
"You are so beautiful. How you do that first thing in the morning?" I joked watching her walk around the counter and she giggled as she turned to the coffee machine, pouring herself some.
"I have my ways." She said slyly and I came up behind her wrapping her up again.
"Mm, what are you doing today?" I asked letting her out of my grip so she could eat.
"Uhhh, I got to get my nails done. Then, I have lunch with my mom, then i'm kinda just gone vibe see where the day takes me." She said popping some fruit in her mouth.
"What you gone do?" She said and I shrugged.
"Mijo got a launch later for his latest business venture, the kids in day care all day today so imma chill till then." I said and she chuckled.
"Mijo always got something launching huh?" She said and I laughed too. My brother was definitely an entrepreneur.
"You want to come with me?" I asked and almost instantly regretted it. If it was Mijo's event Kam would almost certainly be there, and my heart and conscience couldn't take having both of them in the same space, not after what i'd done.
"I'm not really trying to be out like that tonight babe. I'm sorry." She said sweetly declining, thank fuck.
"It's all good. It'll be a lot anyway." I said and kissed her forehead.
"I'll be here when you get home though." She told me and I fought off my smile hearing her words.
"Why you smiling like that?!" She joked as she laughed.
"You say it like you getting comfortable. You already leaving your hair in my sink and shit." I joked and she rolled her eyes.
"You know what I meant silly." I hated that I was breaking her heart and she didn't even know it.
