Let me hear your thoughts on this one. Who is looking forward to the next chapter?———————-
Today we were two weeks out to our wedding. Exactly two weeks. I had been in New York for the week with Zion and Nova. Chris couldn't come due to work commitments, but i wasn't sweating it. The kids got to spend time with their big sister Heiress and I got to get from under him. I mean don't get me wrong, I was ecstatic to be marrying my best friend, and i'd always feel at home with him, but after 4 weeks of being together everyday during the holiday, I wasn't going to complain about being away from each other for a few days.
"Oh my goodness Kam those are beautiful!" Jasmine gushed when I put on the princess cut diamond earrings I was planning to wear for my engagement party. Chris and I were having a very small one for close friends and family next week a week ahead of the party and I was excited - but nervous.
"Kammy, those are prettyyyy" Heiress said from beside me and I smiled down at her and kissed her cheek to thank her for the confirmation. I was getting them.
"They're a little expensive, but you know - only live once." I joked and Jasmine waved me off with a laugh.
"Aight girl, long as my child support cheque don't bounce - i'm all for you ringing that shit up!" she joked back and I bust up laughing again.
"Girl please, this is my money. Chris doesn't pay for everything you know?" I informed and she raised a brow.
"Well I mean. He pays all the bills, but like, I contribute to household upkeep, and both our names are on the mortgage."
"Mhhmmm and what about the cars, travel, childcare, insurance?" She probed further and i rolled my eyes thinking a little harder.
"... okay so he pays for that too... BUT, all my luxury purchases are paid for by me, unless it's a gift." I reasoned and she rolled her eyes.
"Kam you ain't got to explain shit to me. I'm sure Chris prefers it that way anyway. But you know most marriages end in divorce due to financial woes... i'm just saying - protect yourself." She finished and it kind of left a sour taste in my mouth, but I still nodded and didn't further the conversation. I love Jasmine and we'd become great friends but, it wasn't for her to warn me.

"Why didn't you pick up my calls last night or this morning?" I asked into the face time as I lay in the bed of the hotel we were staying in. Zion and Nova were asleep in the room right next door, I hadn't been feeling great so I didn't want them staying in the bed with me and getting sick too. The stress of wedding planning was finally getting to me.
"I was busy baby, i'm sorry. How was your day?" He quickly apologised but was clearly too tired to answer to my questioning sufficiently and tried to change the subject.
"Uh. Busy doing what?" I pushed and I heard him sigh.
"We was shooting the Nami product images, ran late on set." He replied and I rolled my eyes.
"Well i'm sure it would've taken two minutes to call and check on your fiancé and your 2 small children." I don't know why I was pressing him, but it wasn't like Chris to not check in - so there had to be more to it.
"You right, but it was late here when I got home so it would've been later in New york ... then I slept in." He further explained and I rolled my eyes again.
"Whatever..."
"How was your shopping trip, you get anything nice?" He asked, still sounding extremely tired and I was going to not mention my convo with Jasmine, but I wanted his take.
