I left Kam's house right after that argument and absolute bullshit she tried to pull, and hadn't spoken to her in a week. I saw the kids by way of my mom and made her promise not to tell Kam when I was coming by. She could keep dreaming if she thought she was taking me to court for kids I was very much involved and present for. She could be mad, upset, jealous, angry, but she could never try no shit when it came to my children. I'd fuck her whole shit up if she really wanted to go there.
"Good Morning baby" Mani sang as she walked into my office and moved her arm around me to press a kiss onto my neck.
"Mm I was just about to come wake you up." I said grabbing her arm and she moved to sit in my lap before biting her lip and moving in to kiss me again.
"I know, i've been sleeping like a dog." She said and I poked my bottom lip out.
"Babe, I got something I need to talk to you about." I told her and immediately saw her tense up.
"What is it?" She asked with her brows furrowed and I sighed.
"You don't think it's weird you were throwing up all last weekend, been fatigued...?" I edged out and watched her eyes squint slightly.
"...No. I was throwing up because of the drinks I had at the party, you know prosecco doesn't agree with me. And I'm not fatigued i'm just sleeping more because I been less busy. Plus you been keeping me up at night." She reasoned and I chuckled.
"That's true... But I also found these... Unopened." I said reaching in to my draw and pulled out the box of plan b. She didn't react at first, which was odd, then sighed.
"I'm not pregnant Chris. I know my body." She said dryly and moved to get off my lap.
"Hold on. Don't be annoyed it was just a question, I wanted to be sure." I said holding on to her arm and she pulled it back.
"You don't have to worry about any accidents with me. You have enough going on." She said tightly and I had to turn my mouth up.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I challenged and she shook her head.
"Nothing. Look, I just want us to enjoy eachother...keep enjoying eachother. I'm not pregnant, i'm not getting pregnant." She said and patted my shoulder as she walked back out the room. I was relieved, she was right we were too fresh and too easy to be even considering a baby as a possibility, it just made me uncomfortable how adamant she was that she couldn't be pregnant; she never took the pill so how could she be so sure?
I sighed down at my vibrating phone as Kamaiyah's name slid across it. We hadn't spoken in a week and I knew for her to call it had to be important.
"Hello?" I edged out and for a second she didn't speak.
"Hellooo?" I said into the phone again and I heard her sniffle on the other end.
"Kam what the fuck?" I said again and heard shuffling on her end.
