Denari woke up in the arms of Malik. It was all so good. The way he held her in his arms and their hips grinded against eachother, the way how he squeezed her breasts, everything was just perfect. She took a glance at her phone and realized that it was late evening. They must've fell asleep right after. "Hey" she said as she lightly tapped his arm.
"Hmmm?" he answered. "You wanna go grab some dinner cause it's pretty late" she said. Malik turned over to face her as he slowly adjusted his eyes to the light. "What time is it?" he asked. She took her phone up and looked at the lock screen. "It's 5:14" she said. "Alright. By 6 we should be out. I just want to sleep a little more" he said before closing his eyes.
She then sat down and scrolled through Instagram. She was very famous because of who her parents and brother were. She never really showed it off much because she didn't want to be treated any differently. Minutes later, Malik woke up and caught the attention of Denari. "Hey, you're up" she smiled. "Yeah, you wanna get ready now?" he asked.
"Yeah, sure" she said as she got up. They both got dressed and headed downstairs to the lobby. "Where to?" he asked. "Anywhere is good" she said. "Aite, let's go" he said as they walked out of the hotel. While they were walking, a group of girls ran up to them. "Omg! You're Malik Carter and Denari Harris!" the blonde girl squealed.
"Oh my, can we get your autographs please?" a brunette asked. "Sure" Denari smiled as she signed her shirt. "Can we also take a picture with you guys?" the blonde one asked. "Sure" Malik said as they took the picture with the girls. "Thank you guys so much" they squealed before the walked away. Now everyone knew that they were together. Not even a minute later, Denari's phone began to ring.
"Hello mother?" she answered knowing what she was going to say. "What on earth are you doing in Miami?" she asked. "I'm here on vacation" she said. "With Malik?" she asked. "I was stressing out and he offered to take me on a mini vacation so that I could relax and you questioning me is not helping me relax" she said. She immediately regretted talking to her mother that way. In fact, back when she was smaller, she could not have talked to her like that because she would have gotten her ass whooped.
"Excuse me? Don't think because you're grown and that we are in another country means that you can just speak to me however you want. Remember that I am your mother and I am not afraid to knock you the fuck out" Ciara threatened. "I'm sorry mommy I'm just stressed out and by the way, how did you know I was in Miami?" she asked. "I saw it on a random girl's page" she said. Denari shook her head as she recalled the little Dan meeting.
"Well, since it's all in the open now, it doesn't really make a difference" she said. "You're right" Ciara sighed. "Anyways, I will talk to you later" she said before she hung up. Denari sighed as she put her phone back into her purse. "What's wrong?" Malik asked. "Mom found out that we are in Miami" she said. "What's wrong with that?" he asked. "You're really gonna ask that? Jayden will be furious if he finds out about this" Denari said.
"What about him and Jazmine?" he asked as Denari froze in her tracks. "We really shouldn't be having this conversation on the street" Denari said avoiding his question. "And I asked you a question and I would like for you to answer my question" he said sternly. "What about them?" she said. "Really? Answering with another question?" Malik scoffed.
"What about them? I don't have anything to say so can we please get something to eat because it's getting late" she said. "You weren't upset when you found out she was pregnant by your brother?" he asked as she clenched her fists. "I don't want to talk about that okay?" she said before she walked away. For the rest of the evening they didn't say anything. Denari knew that Malik was right. She knew that she was upset about it and that Jayden didn't have a right to be upset.
For the rest of their trip, they barely spoke to eachother. She wasn't in the mood to talk to him and he could bother with the foolishness.
.......
Denari was back at her apartment and was cleaning up and also getting ready to finish up some reports for work when she got a call from her brother. "Hello?" she answered. "My house, now" he demanded as he hung up. She was puzzled by his actions but still went ahead and got dressed. To her surprise, Malik's car was there and she knew that it might have something to do with the fact that they were in Miami.
"Hey guys" she greeted as she walked in. "Hey" Jazmine smiled weakly at her. "So, does anyone of you want to explain this?" Jayden asked as he held up the picture that the girls took with them. "We were taking a picture with some lovely girls" Denari said. "Really? Okay. So how comes that this picture was taken in Miami last week?" Jayden asked. "Because obviously we were in Miami" Denari replied with a bit of attitude.
"Don't be smart with me" he warned. "Or what?" she challenged. "Are you fucking my sister bro?" he yelled at Malik. "Yo, back the fuck up man" Malik said. "Would you stop being such an asshole Jayden? When were you gonna tell me that I had a fucking niece?" Denari yelled as Jayden grew silent. "Oh, so you got nothing to say now? Wow, aren't you the best big brother ever" she said sarcastically.
"I was gonna tell you but-" he paused. "But what?" she asked. "Forget it" he said. "Forget it? You know what Jayden, when you stop acting like a little bitch, you can hit me up. I can't believe that you're upset about me spending some time with Malik while you were screwing my best friend" Denari spat. "Why aren't you saying anything to her then?" Jayden asked. "She's my best friend you're my brother. We are related. We're blood. Family. She's my best friend Jayden. When you're not there she is. At least she had the guts to tell me" she said.
"Don't do that Denari" Jayden said. "You know what, forget it" she said as she grabbed her bag and stormed out of Jayden's house. "Denari, wait" Jazmine called out. "What? What is it?" Denari asked as her voice cracked. "Honey, don't beat yourself up over your dumb ass brother. I mean, you're supposed to be used to him by the way" she said. "That's the problem. Everyone thinks that I'm supposed to be immune to this kind of shit! I am just so fucking tired of being the fucking charity case. I get it, I might never get a stable relationship ever again just because of my past but I don't need anyone rubbing it in my face!" she cried.
Jazmine stared at her as a tear escaped her eye. She never wanted Denari to feel this way. She wanted her to know that she was still beautiful and that she wasn't alone or a charity case. But how was she going to do it?
Hey loves, hope you enjoyed this chapter. I know there is a lot of emotional stress but I promise that it will get better. Stay tuned.
