"Nothing's not right. This is not right" Denari said as she paced around her room. "Honey, calm down. Everything's gonna be fine" Jazmine said. "Jaz, don't you realize? This wedding is a disaster" she groaned. "You know what I think you need? An awesome bachelorette party" Laila said. "Babe, you just gave birth a few days ago and now you want to be going on some wild night?" Jaz said.
"I mean, I don't have to go" Laila said. "No, I am not gonna let any of my best friends miss out on the most important day of my life. Tonight had to be perfect and also tomorrow" Denari said. All of a sudden, Joshua came bursting through the door. "Josh, what are you doing here?" Denari asked. "Jazmine called earlier and said you needed some help" he said as Denari glared at Jazmine.
"I don't need any help at the moment but I do appreciate your offer" she smiled. "You do realise that the stress ball is gonna pop right?" Joshua said and before Denari could answer, the ball popped. "Ugh, I paid $20 for that" Denari groaned. "Hold up, $20 for a stress ball? Girl, where do you even shop? I know we got money and stuff but, I ain't afraid to say that I shop at the dollar store for small things like those and trust me, their way cheeper than local malls and stuff" Tiara said.
"Well, I need everything to go fine because if not, I won't be able to look Malik in the face ever again" Denari sulked. "Girl, tomorrow is gonna be great even if you don't want a party tonight" Jazmine said and Denari smiled.
....
Denari woke up in a frenzy. Today was the day and she never knew how to feel. She looked at herself in her mirror and stared at her body. Truth be told, she looked pretty good. "You can do this" she said to herself before starting to get ready for the wedding. After she was all done, the girls came over to add the finishing touches and to help her with her wedding dress. It was nice and elegant with fine lace and a bodice that suited her well.
"Look at my baby" Ciara gushed. "I must say Ciara, Denari looks so beautiful in this gown" Mirane said. "Thank you Aunty Mirane" Denari said. "You're most welcome hun" she smiled. After a few minutes of waiting, word got to Malik that Denari was on her way. "You look great bro don't worry" Jayden said.
"I just can't wait to see her" he said. All of a sudden, their wedding song played as Denari stepped into the church with Richard at her side. Malik smiled widely as he saw his beautiful bride walk down the isle. "You look beautiful" he smiled. "You don't look too bad yourself" she teased.
"Let us begin" the pastor announced as the congregation sat down. All throughout the wedding, Malik could only focus on Denari and how beautiful she was. "It was brought to my attention that the bride and groom have written their own vows so Mr. Carter, would you like to begin?" the pastor asked before Malik cleared his throat.
"What can I possibly say about this beautiful woman standing in front of me? Three years is a long time for someone to be loving another. Denari, ever since you came into my life, I have never felt more alive. You make me want to live again and explore new things and now opportunities. Many people may think if me of having a very rough exterior but, you brought out the softer version in me. You made me believe in hopes and dreams that I thought were long gone. You are like a drug that I can't stop taking. You make my blood rush in excitement and I actually have a smile when I am with you. Denari Ayana Harris, I love you to the moon and back. I love you more than you think you know and I will never stop saying it" Malik said with tears threatening to fall.
"Malik, I would give anything to have a do over with you. I thought all hope was lost but then I found you. You saved me from a broken heart and mentality. You made me believe that I can do anything and you have taught me that I can be strong despite anything that has happened in the past. I know I may sometimes have problems expressing my feelings but just know that I care about you. I love you and only you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. You are my life, my heart and my world. Malik Amahni Carter, I love you so much and I wouldn't want it any other way" she smiled as the tears flowed down her cheek.
The pastor then asked for the exchange of rings. "I know pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride" the pastor said as Malik pulled Denari into him and kissed her passionately. The congregation cheered as they continued kissing. After the service, they went straight towards the reception.
"I have 2 presents for you" Malik whispered into her ear. "Well, I also have some gifts for you too but I don't know if they are as big as yours" she said. "Don't worry over that. Anything you give me I will live it" he smiled. Denari then returned the smiled before they went back to the party.
...
"Are you ready to see what I got you?" Denari asked. "Yes" he said as she went for a couple of bags. "Here you go" she smiled. "No way" Malik chuckled. "Yes way" Denari smiled. "You got me the shirt?" he asked. "Yep. And I also happen to have the exact same outfit that you said you would wear it with" she smiled. Malik then engulfed her into a large hug.
"Thanks baby girl" he smiled before he kissed her cheek. "I'm glad you like it" she smiled. "Now on to yours" he said. He then handed her a plane ticket. "Oh my gosh! Are we really going to Paris?" she squealed. "Yes we are" he chuckled. "Oh my gosh babe. Thank you so much" she squealed. "Anything for you Mrs. Carter" he smiled. "I love you Me. Carter" she smiled before she kissed his lips.
"Oh and before I forget, you're going to need something to wear" he said before he pulled out a shopping bag. "Shut up! You got me the dress? Thank you, thank you, thank you!" she squealed. " You're most welcome babe" he smiled. "When are we leaving?" she asked. "Tomorrow morning" he said. "How long are we staying?" she asked. "For a week" he said. A week in Paris? That sounds fun right?
