Two years later
Two years had passed and a lot has changed in those two years. Laila and Deshaun were now married, Jayden and Jazmine were also married and Tiara and Tavon were now engaged. Denari and Malik on the other hand celebrated 3 years of being a couple.
"Heyy" Laila greeted. "Hey Lia" Jazmine smiled. "Where's Denari? Isn't she supposed to be here by now?" Tiara asked. Tiara's wedding was tomorrow and Denari was put in charge of the getting everything in order since she could manage the pressure and she volunteered to help out her friend for a reasonable price.
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late. I had to meet with the caterers" Denari said as she walked in. "Oh my gosh, you're finally here" Tiara sighed a breath of relief. "What are you doing here anyways? Aren't you supposed to be getting your beauty sleep?" Denari asked. "But-" she was cut off by Denari. "But nothing. You are the bride. You should be looking fresh and well rested for your wedding tomorrow. Now go home and not to Tavon's house or else I will personally take you home. Understood?" Denari said. "Yes ma'am" Tiara said as the others giggled.
"Good. As for the rest of you, I need everything on this list to be done. We need to make all the final decisions for the bachelor and bachelorette parties by 11:00 am because I have to make sure that all venues are in check" Denari said. "Yes, we have everything ready for tonight" Jazmine said. "Okay. So I'm gonna make sure that everything is-" Denari was cut off by her phone ringing.
"Hello? What? What do you mean that you got the chair order wrong? I sent in a detailed email about how many tables and chairs will be needed for the wedding tomorrow. I sent everything from the 12th of June and it's now the 19th which is 1 week after I sent the email" Denari said to her phone. "No, I sent it to your secretary and she responded and said that she got it...I can't come in right now, I'm in the middle of rehearsals...Fine, if you aren't there by the latest 10:15, you're fired" she said before she hung up the phone.
Everyone stared at her in shock. "What?" she asked. "We've never seen this side of you before" Jayden said. "It's just that these people are making my job miserable" she defended. "Well, go and meet him before he gets fired" Laila joked. Denari smiled before she hopped into her car and went to see the manager of the company.
"Ms. Harris, so nice to see you" the manager Mr. Silvester greeted. "Good morning Mr. Silvester, I am sad to say that I don't feel the same way. Here's a printed copy of the email that I sent to your secretary about my order" she said as she handed him a document. "I also copied the response and noted the date and time of both the message and the response" she continued.
Mr. Silvester looked at her in embarrassment. "I am terribly sorry for accusing you of not ordering the amount that you sent in. Please forgive me" he said. "You are forgiven just please read your emails properly" she said with a small smile before she left. After everything was settled, she went back to prepare for the parties tonight and the wedding.
.....
It was getting closer to the time that the parties would be starting and the girls were running late. "Okay, is everyone ready?" Denari asked. "Yeah" they all replied. "Good, now let's go" she said as the all went to her car. They were going to a party that Joshua was hosting. "Hey guys, so nice to see you" Joshua smiled. "Hey Josh, the place looks nice" Denari smiled as she hugged him.
"Thanks. I've never really had such a big party before but it's always exclusive because it's my house this time" he said. "Alright, let's get this party started" Laila said as the rest of them laughed. They had a few drinks and danced the night away.
Meanwhile, the boys also went to a party but this time, Tavon's and Malik's cousin Cameron, was hosting the party. "Hey wassup cuz?" Malik greeted. "Nothing much. I'm just happy to see my little cuz getting married and shit. Congrats man" he said to Tavon. "Thanks Cam, really appreciate it" he said.
They had a few drinks and chilled while everyone else was dancing or doing something else. All of a sudden, a random girl came up to Malik. "Hey sexy" she smiled seductively. "What do you want?" he asked dryly. "You obviously" she smiled. "Well I don't want you" he said as he took a sip of his drink. "Yeah right. You ain't got on a ring or anything so I know you ain't married" she said.
"I might not have on a ring but I have a girlfriend and even if I didn't, I still wouldn't tap your ass. I saw your ass over there trying to get your hands on everything that has a dick but over here is not where you need to be" Malik said bluntly. The girl left in embarrassment as she didn't expect him to react like that. "Yo, why did you do her like that?" Jayden chuckled.
"She just didn't get the damn hint" he said. "Your girlfriend must love you" Cameron laughed. "Yeah she does and I love her too" he said. "Anyways, I don't want y'all out here too late cause your wedding is tomorrow and shit so about the next hour or so we wrap this up" Cameron said.
....
After about 2 hours, both parties were over. The girls went to their respective homes as did the guys. Denari thought that it would be best if Tiara stayed with her for the night just to make sure that she had some help in the morning. The next day, Denari helped get Tiara ready and also herself. Denari was good at doing makeup but when it came on to hair, Laila was a boss. She opened her own salon two years ago and ever since it has been gaining popularity.
"Heyy" Laila said as she entered the apartment. "Hey" Denari and Tiara greeted. "Where's Jaz?" Tiara asked. "She's on her way" Laila said. About a second later, a knock came from outside the door. "It's Jaz" Laila said before she let her in Jazmine. "Hey guys" Jazmine greeted. "Wassup boo?" Denari smiled. "Nothing just that I'm super excited that one of my besties are getting married!" Jazmine exclaimed.
"I know right" Laila agreed. "Guys, enough squealing and back to decorating the bride" Denari said. "Right, let's go" Jazmine's me said as they continued working on her. After about an hour and a half, all of them were ready. Everyone except Tiara were dressed in coral pink. The theme was pink and green.
"I'm so excited to be getting married to Tavon" Tiara said. "Me too" Laila said as they all looked at her. "What? Can't I be happy for my friend anymore?" she asked as they giggled. "Come on, let's get her to the church. Many people were starting to show up and the church wasn't full yet. "I hope everything's going okay inside" Denari said to herself.
....
It was time for the service to begin and Tiara was waiting with her father outside of the doors until the song played. All eyes were on her as she walked towards Tavon. Tavon smiled when he saw her and immediately started to tear up. They both were exchanging their vows and being cute and all. After the church service was done, it was on to the reception.
Denari had to reach first because she had to make sure that everything was going well. "Is everything in check?" she asked as she walked into the kitchen. "Yes ma'am. Everything is ready and waiting" the head chef said. "Great" she said before she went to where the bride and groom would be.
Finally, the newlyweds arrived and the reception was now in progress. They were playing wedding games and dancing and eating and laughing. Denari felt as if she was the only one who was left out. All of her friends were married and starting their own families and she was here like not doing anything. She wondered when she was going to be asked the famous question. Will it ever happen?
Hey guys. I hope you enjoyed this chapter and stay tuned.
