58 - Chance

As soon as Fyre slammed the door closed, his heart almost felt numb but he was still tearful. He did his best to not let this get to him but his lips wouldn't stop shaking. He had already decided that he wasn't going to pursue his unrequited feelings, but he couldn't help it in the end so now he was in so much pain again. It was more painful because he saw it right in his eyes that Tian Zi didn't want anything to do with him, that now he was starting to regret what he did last night, but then again not.

Suddenly sobbing, Fyre covered his mouth tightly as he couldn't stop his cry from coming out. The pain he was feeling all over his body was nothing compared to what he was feeling right now. He didn't know why it hurt so much when he'd already expected that things would go this way. He already knew, but his talk with Maverick yesterday made him hopeful. He wished to just disappear but he knew he couldn't do that. He simply couldn't do that! It was him that said that they should just stay friends like always, but he couldn't really do that right? He'd helplessly continue to feel this way towards Tian Zi if they remained friends.

Finally wiping his face, Fyre then proceeded to the mirror to look at himself. When he did, he saw a bit of love bites around his neck area and chest. But instead of blushing and feeling embarrassed about it, his heart ached again. The marks only reminded him that no matter how he tried to change himself, he was still an Omega who would take advantage of his heat just to sleep with an Alpha. He felt dirty and disgusted about himself, but at the same time, he couldn't find in his heart the feeling of regret. He wanted to regret but at the same time, he genuinely couldn't. If given another chance, he was positive that he would do the same and chose to hurt himself again.

"You're so pathetic!" Fyre scolded as he watched himself in the mirror. He stared at his body for quite a bit more before quickly picking the bathrobe to wrap his body into. However, as he was doing so, the door to the bathroom suddenly busted open with Tian Zi stepping in with a serious expression. He was already wearing sweats and a t-shirt, while Fyre watched him in horror still in the process of wearing the robe.

"W-what the fuck are you doing, you bastard!?" Fyre yelled as he watched Tian Zi march towards him this time and all of sudden pull him into a hug. Fyre was frozen for seconds before he started struggling, wondering what was happening.

"I know you don't want me as your partner but please... give me a chance." Tian Zi whispered, burying his face against Fyre's neck. The way he held Fyre was if he never wanted to let go unless the Omega said yes.

"F-Fuck you! What are you talking about?! Let me go, you asshole!" Fyre yelled, punching Tian Zi's side. He was so confused at the situation, but the Alpha's words sounded so good in his ears that he didn't think he would be able to resist and somehow end up hurting himself again.

"No, because you'll misunderstand me again. I-I'm not sure yet whether I love you or not, but I do like you. I've only just realized it. The reason why I was so fixated when it came to you... this is all because I didn't want to rely on somebody else but me. I-I got jealous of Paul Hymlyn... I got jealous of Joaquinn too, and even Jonathan... I know you find me annoying and that you hate me but please, just one chance and I'll prove to you that you can be happy with me." Tian Zi said, holding Fyre tighter.

Fyre was beyond surprised by the words coming from Tian Zi's mouth, but he could not deny the joy he felt at that moment as he stopped his struggles. Fyre was small in height and he only barely reached Tian Zi's shoulder, but the fact that the tall Alpha was hugging him like a cowering child, kinda looked adorable. There was a moment of silence between them which intensified Tian Zi's heartbeat. This was his last resort. When he saw Fyre leaving earlier, it felt like his heart dropped to the point that it was almost difficult to breathe. He didn't care if he sounded pathetic, he couldn't afford to lose Fyre. Although the Omega said they were to remain friends, he knew full well that after what had happened between them, that would be nearly impossible.
