11 - Avoid the Mos

"How was the mock ceremony?" A woman in a light-blue and white checkered suit asked as soon as Margarette walked inside the room. The woman stared at her in inquiry before she stood up from her chair and walking close to her before extending her hand to caress her raven hair.

Margarette Silvostri, the only daughter of the house of Silvostri of Italy. Their house was one of the most influential noble families in Europe so often time she was viewed as a woman filled with pride and honor. However, growing up as the only daughter among 3 children, Veronica wasn't treated with much attention as anyone thought she would. Being the only daughter and having 8 years gap to the 2nd son, she grew up as a neglected child.

She tried her best to curry favor from her parents who were busy with work and social status, and older brothers who were busy preparing to inherit the family name but it all went in vain. It was not until she was old enough to understand her situation that she realized she was just a useless garbage deemed to be tossed away as a political chip for the family's benefit, unlike his brothers who will inherit the family. But, what could she do about it? No one was on her side. She tried her best but the only time she was spared one glance was when she did something out of order. An attention different from she had expected. The attention she once craved became something she wanted to avoid no matter what.

And in order to do so,  Margarette grew up unloved and loneliness by her side, she had never felt special except when she was 10 when she first met Jonathan Alexander Wood. She fell for him at first sight, with that little attention he gave her felt like an oasis in the empty desert. However, she did not chose Jonathan souly for that, Alexander Jonathan would was the perfect man for her. He is of noble blood and the heir to the Wood's household. If she married to him, she will finally slip away from the grasp of the Silvostri family.

"It went pretty well, Alexander was there to escort me," Margarette replied with a soft smile after she awkwardly stepped back pulling herself away from the touch, however, despite her gentle words, it was evident from her actions that the event didn't go as well as she had said. Seeing this, the woman with bobbed-cut hair remained unfazed with her sharp and dominant expression. 

"I see, then you must be tired from the event. You can tell me more about it after you properly rested," The woman said and Margarette didn't have to be told twice to comply. Furthermore, she wanted to avoid talking to Marjorie Wood with her current situation. That one time where something happened between Marjorie and her was a huge mistake and she would rather forget about that one time and focus on her goals.

Meanwhile looking at Margarette's escaping figure, Marjorie's eyes remained sharp. Ever since she was young, she had always preferred women, no matter what the second gender was she would always find herself attracted to women. She is the second daughter of the Wood household and considering that she does not inherit the responsibility to uphold the family name, she was free to indulge herself in her preference. However despite her freedom, she still decided to serve the family and contribute into making it even more prominent.

That one time she had with Margarette Silvostri was nothing but a mere one time fling, there was no meaning to it or what so ever. It is not like she felt something for the young woman, she just finds Margarette pitiful and she could not remove her eyes from her watching each and every struggles.

Walking back to the chair she was previously sitting, Marjorie thought for a long while before she finally decided to fish out her mobile phone. She scanned from her list of contact numbers the person she wanted to call and when found it, she didn't hesitate to press on it and soon waiting for the line to connect.

After the second ring, her phone call quickly connected with the person on the line saying "Hello,"

"Investigate Alexander's activities for the past 7 months he was staying with Mo Tian Zi. I want every detail possible especially where he stayed, who he was with, and what he was doing up until now," Marjorie ordered with her voice filled with dominance. She might be the middle child of the Wood household but her authority in the family was as heavy as the eldest daughter who was currently managing most of the family business and noble responsibilities while Jonathan still in training and now missing.
