THERE'S now eight line ups of people in rows, leading to a small stand with a stack of contracts on them. When Hyun-Jung is next, she glanced to the side and saw that girl earlier, 067, that was fighting that thug. She looks down at the paper, walking up and picking up the pen. She carefully reads the contract.
Player consent form. Clause 1: A player is not allowed to stop playing. Clause 2: A player who refuses to play will be eliminated. Clause 3: The games may be terminated if the majority agrees. Her brows furrow at Clause 2. What did that mean? Will be eliminated?
As she wonders, she hesitates but ultimately ends up signing her name anyways. She looked up and handed over the paper to the man before her before walking away, smiling when she saw ramen head and bowl cut guy behind her. She can tell they'll just be the bestest friends to her while being here.
After everyone signed their names on the player consent forms, The Blue Danube played over the speakers as they all form a line, following the staff in an orderly fashion. "Attention, all players. The first game is about to begin. Please follow the staff's instructions. Please make your way towards the game hall." An announcement plays over the music.
They enter a very colourful room with stairs and a bunch of those men. "Dudes, look." 324 says to them, pointing up. "Wow. This place is huge..." Hyun-Jung says, following behind the man before her as the boys are behind her. "Please look into the camera. Smile."
Hyun-Jung goes after the man before her, stepping up to the panels all set ip with a screen and camera. "Please look into the camera. Smile." It repeats and Hyun-Jung grimaced slightly before staring blankly at the camera. "Oh, come on. A pretty girl like you should smile for the camera." 324 says to her and she simply rolled her eyes at him.
He goes next, doing some dumb pose where he sticks his tongue out and raised his hand in rock n roll gestures. "Ah, shit." He goes to pose again but Hyun-Jung grabs his arm just as 250 steps in, shoving him. "Hey, move it." He says and stepped up, adjusting his hair as Hyun-Jung watched with a scrunched up face.
They follow after the staff members again, heading up the staircases. It felt like it was taking forever, and when they finally reached the game hall, they walk out into a big open area with a shining sun beaming down onto them. "I wonder what game we're playing..." She said, raising her hand to cover her eyes.
"Attention, all players. After you enter the game hall... please stand behind the white line drawn on the field and await further instructions. Once again, will all players please stand behind the white line and await further instructions." Is announced over the speakers so everyone, despite being confused, began walking towards the white line on the ground.
The doors they had come through loudly creak and slam shut behind them making everyone's heads turn to look. "Oh, no, ghosts." Hyun-Jung said, wagging her fingers to the boys. "Shut up. Ghosts aren't real." The blond spoke first and shoved her hands away as he looks up ahead. "Hey." He says, squinting slightly. "Huh?" The taller boy says, looking in the direction he's looking. "What's that? Over there." 324 says, nodding his head slightly.
"Looks really freaky..." Hyun-Jung says when she saw the big doll standing at the tree with two of the staff on either side of her. "Damn, that thing has a freaking huge head." 250 says and they all laugh together. "Here is the first game. You will be playing Red Light, Green Light." Another announcement plays over the speakers as the doll slowly turns around.
"You are allowed to move forward when it shouts out Green Light," they announced as the doll's hand slowly raised to the tree, "stop when it shouts Red Light. If your movement is detected afterwards, you will be eliminated." Hyun-Jung's brows furrowed together.
"I haven't played that since I was like 7..." She looked to the boys. "Let me repeat the rule." The woman on the speakers goes on. "Red Light, Green Light. Is this a joke?" Player 250 asked, glancing at player 324. "Do you think they're serious?" He asked next as he looked at Hyun-Jung next. "Well then, bet on the first one there?" Player 324 propositioned them.
"I don't gamble." Hyun-Jung says, adjusting her jacket and 324 looks at her. "What? Cause you know you'll lose?" He asked and she glares. "Fine... a million won. Each." She said as she pointed between the two because she was confident she could win. She was always good at this game. The boy laughs, looking away. "You're on!" He's suddenly serious.
"Those players who cross the finish line without being eliminated within the five-minute playtime will pass this round. With that, let the game begin." The woman on the PA announced as the boys and Hyun-Jung were ready. A timer begins above the tree. "Green Light." The doll said and the boys began running. "Red Light!" It turned around very quickly just as Hyun-Jung and 250 stopped in their tracks but blondie was up ahead of them, trying to balance.
He leans back a bit and went forward, trying not to fall. "Player 324. Eliminated." Is announced "Dumbass got caught." 250 says in a cocky tone and Hyun-Jung smiles, she knew she would win this game. But then bang! It's loud and makes Hyun-Jung's heart drop. She had a bad feeling, when she read the words eliminated. 324 falls to the ground and everyone's quiet. "Green Light!"
The pair walk over to the blond boy with a woman directly behind them. "Red Light." The doll said and spun around. "Hey, you got eliminated, idiot." Player 250 says to the laying boy and 324 just hacks up blood. The woman behind them screams. Hyun-Jung sees the panic in 250's eyes as well but she grabs his arm before he can run. "Don't run..." She whispered but the woman clearly didn't get that if you move, you die as she ran, screaming.
She got shot in another woman and that's when all hell broke loose, realizing that if you move, you die but still decided to run and scream for their lives. Hyun-Jung glanced to the boy beside her, keeping her grip on his arm tight as to anchor him so he doesn't move, but his eyes are still on his lifeless friend.
"J-Just close your eyes..."
