THE four are now seated on a square shaped table, Sae-byeok and Hyun-jung across one another with Sangwoo and Gi-hun across one another. The food looked delicious. All of them just sat there in silence, when the masked man spoke up. "Tonight's feast is prepared as a token of gratitude for the sacrifice and effort that you finalists have made, and to encourage you all to perform even more splendidly in the final game. Now please relax and enjoy your feast." The man told them and they dig in.

Well, Sangwoo and Gi-hun did. Hyun-jung felt sick, so she mostly took a sip of the wine that was poured into her glass. She glanced up and saw Sae-byeok cut her steak as well and eat some. When she noticed Hyun-jung looking her way, she does a gesture as if she's eating and pointed at Hyun-jung who glanced down, sighing before cutting her steak.

She looked between Gi-hun and Sangwoo as she took a slow bite out of her steak, not really feeling like eating. She drinks a bit more of her wine then ate some of her veggies. She stops and leans back, she keeps her eyes on the table. When they all were done and the men put away their plates, Sae-byeok looks at Hyun-jung, immediately sighing when she saw most of her steak was still on the plate.

When all of the things were put away, the man then puts the steak knife in front of Hyun-jung. She glanced all around to see the others equally as surprised by this, Sae-byeok takes hers first, then so do Gi-hun and Sangwoo. Hyun-jung hesitantly took hers.

The tension in the air felt thick and Hyun-jung was getting sleepy, staring at the chandelier hanging in the middle of the room. "You okay?" Sae-byeok whispered and she nods quickly, closing her eyes suddenly.

"Just... tired." She whispered and Sae-byeok's eyes are on her. She leans her head against Sae-byeok's shoulder, glancing up. "I'm okay. Really." She nodded and then she fell asleep like that, leaning against Sae-byeok. "Hey... Hyun-jung?" Sae-byeok shook her softly and Hyun-jung opens her eyes, looking at her. "Why do you have tears in your eyes?" She raised her hand up to Sae-byeok's face.

"You're bleeding." She said and Hyun-jung's breathing becomes laboured. "Sae-byeok... you were the prettiest girl I ever met. You know that, right?" She said and chuckled softly. "M-Mister! She's hurt, can you get help?" Sae-byeok shouted to Gi-hun suddenly who rushed over to them. "How did you not know about this?" He asked the girl right away.

"I-I-I didn't notice it. She didn't tell me." Sae-byeok's in tears and Gi-hun ran over to the doors. "Hey, hey, pretty girl. Don't cry." Hyun-jung whispered, rubbing her thumb against Sae-byeok's face. "Why didn't you tell me?!" The other girl exclaimed and Hyun-jung just leaned in, pressing her forehead against Sae-byeok's. "Because it's okay." She whispered and Sae-byeok kept holding onto her. Even as her head fell limp against the pillow.

She lays beside her, with her forehead now against the dying girl's neck when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her own neck. And then that was it. Death consumed them. Sae-byeok held Hyun-jung in her arms, holding her during her last breath. She had her face against Hyun-jung's neck when she got stabbed by Cho Sangwoo. The masked men came in, but not to help Hyun-jung, but to take her body away along with Sae-byeok's body. Gi-hun watched as Sangwoo stood by the girls' beds.

He runs up to them, noticing the stab wound in Sae-byeok's neck and they were both no longer breathing. "Sae-byeok. Hyun-jung. No. Oh, no." Hyun-jung opened her eyes again and the first thing she saw was Sae-byeok's grinning face. "Hey, sleepy head..." The girl reached out and pushed Hyun-jung's hair behind her ear. "Sae-byeok." She reached up, touching Sae-byeok's arms and sure enough, she's there. She's real. But it feels too good to be true.

"You did so good, Hyun-jung." Sae-byeok's hands are both on her face now and she's just staring cluelessly. "Sae-byeok. I like you. And I wish I told you before..." She said and paused when Sae-byeok chuckled. Her smile. It makes her heart swell and butterflies swarm her stomach. "I like you too. And I wish I told you too. But now I know and we can spend all of time together, no interruptions and no more games." She leaned in slowly.

"Just me and you--" "and Ji-yeong and Ji-hoon!" The two girls immediately part and look over. "Ji-hoon!" Hyun-jung quickly got up and ran to the boy, her arms go around him. Sae-byeok watched them with a small smile as Hyun-jung pulled back. "I couldn't do it," she said, sounding sad like she disappointed him.

"It's okay, Hyun-jung. You did so good anyway." Ji-hoon smiled and kissed the top of her head and she looked at Ji-yeong. "Hi. I never told you my name, but I'm Hyun-jung." She smiles and the girl smiled back just as wide. "I know. I'm Ji-yeong." She says as Sae-byeok just glanced back and forth between them.

"I know..." Hyun-jung smiled and Ji-hoon grabs her arm suddenly, "Min-ho's here too!" He said and she looks at him. "Here... what exactly is here?" She asked, tilting her head to the side a bit. "The afterlife... people who made the most impact in your life are the ones you get to see." Ji-yeong explained, smiling.

"Oh... that makes sense." Hyun-jung says, smiling faintly and Sae-byeok grabs her arm. "I'm glad I'm in your afterlife, Hyun-jung..." She says and the other just smiled back. "We'll meet you guys out there..." Ji-yeong gestured and hit Ji-hoon's arm. They head outside and Hyun-jung looks at Sae-byeok.

"So... why'd you let him do it? Sangwoo?" She asked suddenly and Sae-byeok glanced down. "Because I didn't wanna go on without you." She said as she raised her hands to the other girl's waist. "I hope he wins... Gi-hun, not Sangwoo." She quickly says and Sae-byeok nods, glancing down. "I hope so too..." She says. "I wanna kiss you." Hyun-jung suddenly said and Sae-byeok quickly looks up at her.

"O-Okay..." She said and Hyun-jung chuckled and began leaning in. "I never kissed anyone before." She says and Sae-byeok stared into her eyes. "Me neither..." She says, for a moment, it felt embarrassing to be an adult admitting that but Hyun-jung didn't really care because Sae-byeok hasn't had her first kiss yet either. The freckled girl kisses her first.

It's a small peck, lips on lips and it lasts for a couple of seconds before Hyun-jung pulls away. "I like the afterlife." She nodded and Sae-byeok chuckled, pressing their lips together again as her hands go up to the other's face and Hyun-jung's arms go around her waist.

They didn't win, or live to play the last game, but at least they got their perfect ending anyway because they got to see each other again and spend eternity together. It was kinda perfect and spent with their three friends.

THE END.
