HYUN-JUNG first tossed her marble, that rolls into the circle and Ji-hoon took a moment, glancing at the girl by his side who looks at him, nodding. "Go on, your turn..." She said, smiling softly and he looks over at her marble on the ground, then tossed his next.
It rolled slowly, then stopped right before the circle. "You jerk. You said you'd play fair..." Hyun-jung said, grabbing Ji-hoon's sleeve tightly, gripping it in her fist as the boy turned to her. "Ji-hoon!" She raised her voice as she shook his arm and he's staring at their marbles before looking back at her, smiling.
"I told you... you deserve to win." He whispered and raised both his arms to her shoulders. "I'll be so proud of you when you win... Min-ho will be too." He whispered and leaned in, kissing the top of her head. She let out a sob, wrapping her arms around him as he hugged back, glancing up at the guard. He looks at the time next, three minutes now. He pushed her away gently, "you'll do great... I know you will. Alright? Win all of that 45.6 billion won for us." He smiled, raising his hands up to her face to wipe away her tears. She sobs again, looking down.
He puts his forehead against hers and she closed her eyes. He pulls his head away, reaching down into his pocket to take out his marbles which he hands over. He walks over to the two marbles in the circle, putting them in her hands as well as she just shakes her head. "Ji-hoon..." She says and he shushes her. "It's okay..." He said as he smiled softly.
"Trust me. It's okay, Hyun-jung."
Those were the last words Ji-hoon said as she looked down and walked away. When the gunshot went off, it rang through her ears and the sound of his body hitting the floor made her gasp softly, her breath hitching as she approached the exit. Stupid marbles.
Everyone now walk into the main room together in a line behind one of the masked men. Her eyes are on the floor as she walks when everyone stopped suddenly. She looks up to see it was Mi-nyeo, she was live. "Deok-su, honey. So glad you won." She smiles at 101 as she waves at him. "How... how the hell..." Deok-su stammers. "What? You're looking at me like you've seen a ghost. Are you okay?" She asked and then she scoffs at him.
She pointed, "the masked guys all called me this, the weakest link. Like when nobody chooses uou as a partner for things when you were a kid. Hey, this guy knows about it. The weakest link!" She cackles. "And after that, they gently escorted me back to this dorm." She laughs some more. "Because... they said that it's all a part of a rule that in the old days, not to let a kid turn into some kind of an outcast, I guess. Goddamn it!" She inhales sharply. "It's amazing, isn't it?" She said then cackled loudly.
Hyun-jung just ignores her, walking away to sit at one of the beds as she glanced over at the big screen. Down to 17 players, and up to 43.9 billion. She sat quietly, staring down at her bed sheets. Mealtime came around again and they got potatoes and water. Hyun-jung kept glancing over at Sae-byeok who's sniffling softly as she eats her food. She looks down at the potato in her hands, pursing her lips.
She can't even eat or drink. She just sat there quietly, glancing around the dormitory. "Let's just stop all this. I can't keep doing this. I can't." Player 69 cried out, looking down and Hyun-jung looked at him right away. His partner was his wife. "The majority must agree. Well, come on, let's get out. Half os us, that's all we need to end this right now. Don't any of you want to leave this horrible place? Anyone who wants to go, stand up. Let's get out of here." He looked all around, none of them were doing so.
He cries, "how can you call yourselves human?" He yelled and Hyun-jung looks down, biting the inside of her cheek to stop herself from crying. "How many of you can continue with this insanity just for the money?" He shouts. "You just had to kill the ones you were the closest to at this place, and you're good with that just to get the money?" At that point, Hyun-jung had tears rolling down her face she had to quickly wipe away discreetly.
"So what if we stop now?" Sangwoo is walking towards the weeping man. "You think your wife will stop being dead if we all go now? And she'll forgive you for letting her get murdered? If you can't keep going, then why are you alive right now? You should've been the one who died in there instead." By now he grabbed the man's jacket and Hyun-jung scoffs.
That's no way to talk to someone who's mourning just like anyone else in this room. "See that?" Sangwoo pointed at the pig hanging above them, looking at the man. "That's the price of being in here. And your wife and the others paid it with their lives. And you wanna go and leave? You wanna start from the beginning again? You ready to do all that, huh? Starting over again from nothing with that guilt." Sangwoo lets him go and player 69 backs away, whimpering. "And is everybody here ready to do that as well?" He looked around.
"Go ahead, stand up! Let's see who thinks they are." He raised his voice and no one does anything as the man kept crying. "Get up and get out of here!" He shouted and player 69 just sobbed out loud. Hyun-jung felt bad for the man, he was in pain and it was understandable. But there's no point stopping the games.
