What did my Thanksgiving look like? I'll tell you, first off it was quiet just me the cat and the dog. Second, I spent the day beginning work on a cover for an author. It's a redesign of a cover for one of her previously published books. She's decided to change the cover.

After a brief discussion of what she'd like to do we came to one conclusion: a simple church

Sounds easy, right?

Yeah, not so much. I found the image of the perfect church on my stock photos site, it's sitting at the correct angle and exactly what she was thinking of, but ...

It's a picture of an abandoned church, not what she wants.

So my Thanksgiving was spent putting new siding on the house and repairing the windows. I still need to do a little finish work on it and make certain there are no gaps and the edge are all clean but I think it came out pretty good.

Ignore the empty doorway, there will be a magical portal there eventually lol

Ignore the empty doorway, there will be a magical portal there eventually lol. I also got rid of the railing because it was just obnoxiously in the way.

It took me all day to do that. It was painstaking work replacing each piece of siding and the trim work. Each piece is an individual slat put into place. 248 pieces to be exact (yes I counted lol). Then there's the layers to replace the two windows and the concrete in the foundation and the steps, certainly not as many as the siding, but it was still more layers to get the right look.

I'm very happy with how it turned out.
