One of my favorite things to do as a designer is manipulation covers/designs. I like the challenge of turning one thing into another. While sometimes the changes are subtle, there are times when they're bigger and it makes me very happy when it turns out the way I envisioned it.
I did this one a while ago and it turned out cooler than I anticipated. This one was a big change from the original image. It wasn't for a cover, it was simply one of those times I went, "Let's see what we can do with this"

I did this cover recently for Egwuji this one was more subtle changes. Like their hair coloring (though his was a much more dramatic change than hers was) and adding the elf ear to the woman, also replacing the axe with a sword

I love learning new design techniques and while I can't do everything the newer Photoshop program can do, I can still do a lot. When I began designing almost ten years ago I knew nothing about it and I took every opportunity to learn from whoever I could. I never knew how much I would enjoy it, though I suppose as a writer I should have expected anything creative would capture my interest. I can't draw to save my life so this allows me to be artistic without actually having any talent for drawing.
