Jin scoffed, "It's not like I had a lot of choice in the matter. There's no way I would let you go alone and risk yourself and our daughter."
"I still appreciate it regardless. There's only one more thing I need you to do." He looked at her with his eyebrows raised, his mouth shut in a firm line. "I need you to use your Vampire speed to subdue the one guard that would be outside the King's chambers. Do not kill him; just knock him out. If he doesn't see you coming, then we might be able to pull this off."
He got up and sighed, "I'll be right back." He was gone for about a minute, and when he returned, he told her it was done.
"Thank you, Jin," she said, gripping his upper arms. "I'll be back as soon as he's dead."
"I'm coming with you."
Vi sighed, "I can take care of myself."
Now, it was his turn to hold her arms. "And I know that, but I love you and our daughter. So I'm coming with you, or I'll sound the alarm."
"Fine, but stay out of my way and do not interfere." Vi stalked out of the room; there were no guards on her side of the castle since not many even knew she was there. It was the middle of the night, so there weren't many people around, and since her Uncle was a cocky little shit, his walls, so to speak, were down.
When they got to the hall where his chambers were, the guard was slumped down on the ground, fast asleep. "He'll wake up in a few hours a little disoriented. So you can't take too long."
"Got it," Vi opened the door quietly. He was asleep in an obnoxious four-poster bed that was on a platform. She had to roll her eyes, even Joon wasn't that pretentious, and he's a freaking Vampire. Vi stood at the end of his bed and watched him. How could he murder her parents and sell her off, yet sleep like a baby?
Vi heard a sound behind her; Jin was getting comfortable in a chair to watch the show. When she turned back around, her Uncle started to stir. She laughed; she laughed like a crazy person.
"Princess Amethyst, why are you here, in my chambers, in the middle of the night?"
Vi smiled and pulled a knife out. She proceeded to spin it around, and she saw his eyes go wide. He was scared. "Oh, me? Why I'm here to kill you, Uncle."
His mouth formed the perfect O, "but why would you kill me?"
"Well, first you killed my parents, and then you sold me to a bunch of Vampires. So I think it's only fair to take my Kingdom back."
"Guards, guards help!" He screamed and yelled until he was red in the face.
Vi laughed louder, "If I'm standing in your room with a knife, do you think I wouldn't have taken care of your guards? I wouldn't want them to hear your screams." She sighed, "I'm shocked that you didn't up your security after all the attempts on your life."
He scoffed, "Because they were pathetic attempts, no one even got close enough to see me sweat. And the castle is impenetrable, so why fret."
"But you didn't count on me, did you? You never thought your precious little niece would come home and do something drastic, right?"
"What can a little girl like you do?" He said as he rolled his eyes.
His hand reached up, she was assuming to maybe brush his hair back, but she was pissed, so she threw the knife and pinned his hand against the headboard. He screamed bloody murder and started crying. "That Uncle, that's what I can do."
Then Vi tossed the last knife, and it hit him right in his chest; she stood there and watched as his life drained away. She turned around and frowned, "That was a lot more anti-climactic than I thought it would be."
Jin scoffed, "Well, we should get out of here before the guard wakes up or someone finds him." They made their way back to her room, and he paused. He shook his head and chuckled, "Come on."
He dragged her in the opposite direction, "where are we going?"
"The kitchens, my daughter is so mad at you right now. She's hungry, and apparently, you've been ignoring that." Then he chuckled, "She said she's going to punish you after she gets fed."
What the hell? What kind of punishment could an unborn child inflict? She wished she had never asked herself that. Jin made a sandwich and a bowl of fruit that she scarfed it down quickly after they headed back to the room, and as soon as the door shut, it hit her. There was this overwhelming urge, this need, to be with Jin. If she didn't sleep with him right now, she was going to die.
Vi turned around, "God, you smell so good, Jin." Her hands were at his collar, and she unbuttoned his shirt as fast as possible.
He chuckled, "Are you feeling okay there, Princess?"
She shook her head no, "I feel like I'm going to die if you don't slam into me right now."
He sighed, "She's using the imprint against you. She's pissed. I'm sorry, Vi. Let's go to sleep, and I'll see if I can calm her down."
That was it; that was all she needed to hear. "I don't want to sleep, though."
His hand brushed her hair back, went behind her head, and held her gently. "This isn't you talking; it's the imprint and your stubborn daughter." He breathed, "It seems like she will be as headstrong as we are. Now, let's get that corset off and get in bed."
Vi grinned, "that's what I'm talking about."
"To sleep, Princess, to sleep."
He got her undressed, and he put his shirt on her. He picked her up and gently carried her to the bed. He kissed her forehead and mumbled a good night.
"Jin, it's the middle of the day for us. The sun isn't going to come up for several more hours. And I'm horny," she whined.
