Vi pulled the chair out, and it made the loudest noise against the floor. But she sat down and held her head high. He clapped his hands, and two guys in uniform walked over and pulled the silver dome off the plates. It was full of food, more food than she could ever eat. So what was all the other food for? Was it just for show or? She waited until he started eating; she wasn't sure, but she assumed it was probably a rule with him being King.

She made it about five minutes before he started asking questions. Vi gave him short answers without elaboration, and she played dumb on many things. So, by the time dinner was over, all he knew was that she lived in a cabin in the woods and liked donuts. She knew he was frustrated, but she didn't care. Vi didn't owe this man anything. She was exhausted when she returned to the room, not because of the long car ride or early morning wakeup. No, it was from the mental gymnastics she had to play to ensure she didn't give too much away.

"How was it?"

Vi looked at Nanny. Sitting on the end of the bed, she looked stressed out. She flopped down next to her. "Weird. He asked a lot of questions, but I did a great job of not letting him know anything." Vi smirked at her, and she laughed.

"That's my girl. Tomorrow, we have a ball. Now, before you start to grumble, you have to go. He has to introduce you to society; the world must know you are alive. But..."

She turned to look at her; she had tears in her eyes. "What is it? What are you freaking out about?"

"You should be Queen right now. You were the heir to the throne; he would have been placed as Regent until you were 18. You are 18 now, but I don't think he will hand over the throne. I think he will marry you off to keep the crown."

"I don't want the crown; I know nothing about running a country. He can have it for all I care."

She jumped off the bed and threw her hands in the air, "your parents died to protect you, and you just want to throw their legacy into the hands of the person who most likely murdered them?"

"WHAT?"

When she realized what she had said, she slapped her hand over her mouth, and her eyes widened. "I'm not completely sure, but I feel in my heart that that happened."

"So you want me to take the throne from him and make him pay?" She was sniffling, but she nodded her head just a tiny bit. "How am I supposed to do that? I know nothing about this world, this life."

She squeezed Vi tight. "Believe it or not, I have been training you for this. I mean, what Princess can shoot a bow and arrow as accurately as you can? You speak several languages and can survive alone in the forest for days. You aren't just some prissy Princess; you are a warrior."

"Still doesn't mean I know what the fuck I'm doing when it comes to running a kingdom," the Princess mumbled against her shoulder.

She rubbed her back, "We'll figure it out, I promise. Plus I set something into motion, I think I found someone who can help you."

"What, who?"

"King Namjoon, he's the Kin.."

"Eww, I don't want a man. Let alone a crusty old King."

Vi heard her giggle, "Just wait until you see him; he's handsome."

She saw him 20 years ago; he probably has a big gut and a receding hairline. "I'll meet him, just for you. But that's it, can I go to bed now?"

"Oh, yes, of course, Princess. You need your rest for the party tomorrow."

She got up to change and wash the makeup off, "Cut it with the Princess crap. It's just weird."

"Better get used to it because it's what you are," she said, being cheeky, but since she was helping Violet get out of this monkey dress, she'd let it slide. Violet crawled into bed, and Nanny turned out the light. "See you in the morning, Princess. Be ready for war."

"What is this?" Hobi asked as he waved a card in the air.

Joon looked at Hobi with a straight face. "Do I need to explain to you what an invitation is?"

"Seriously Joon, I know it's an invitation, I'm just wondering to what are we being invited?"

"The King of Ellesfire wants me to come to a ball. The Lost Princess is back, and he wants to marry her off."

"Oh fun, are we going?"

The King sighed, "I wasn't going to, but then I read the inside note."

Hobi got curious. He opened the invitation and grabbed the paper: 'Princess Amethyst needs your help. I promise if you help her, you'll find something you've been missing for a long time.' He looked at Joon with a wry smile: "Oh, I can't wait to go to this. I'll tell the others."

It made Joon laugh. It was at night so they could go, he missed the sun. It's been 400 years of darkness for him, Jin, and Yoongi. It's been 600 and 500 years, but still. There's only one way for a vampire to walk in the sun: to feed on someone with purple blood. But they only come around once in a millennium; their blood is irresistible to vampires.

He looked at his watch. They didn't have much time if they wanted to arrive when they were supposed to. He sighed and went to shower. He could hear Hobi telling everyone about the party. Those guys love to party, and it's even better when the liquor is free. He had to send a text to remind them to dress their best. Not everyone knew they were vampires, but the ones who did need to be reminded of their wealth and power.
