"I don't drool," Vi scoffed as she wiped the drool from her chin.

"Sure you don't, Princess, you don't snore either."

She glared at Nanny, "Why are you so mean to me?"

Nanny rolled her eyes a bit and then pointed to the front. Violet turned and saw the most significant and prettiest castle ever. Well, it's the only one besides the ones she'd seen on TV or in books, but that's not the point. She couldn't even say anything; her mouth hung open like an idiot. "Are you ready to meet your parents?"

The car pulled up to an impossibly large gate. An imposing guard walked toward the car as she rolled down her window. She opened what looked like a wallet; a sizeable golden coin was inside. The guard looked annoyed until he saw the coin. Then he snapped a quick salute and started barking out orders. The gates opened, and they drove down the impossibly long driveway. When the two of them pulled up to the front, there was a circular drive with a huge fountain.

Nanny turned to look at her, "are you ready for this?"

She blew out a breath, "honestly? No, not even a little bit. But sometimes you gotta fake it til you make it."

The massive doors opened, and then she heard words from Nanny's mouth that she'd never heard. "What the fuck is he doing here?"

"Who?" Vi whispered out of the side of her mouth.

"Your Uncle, he shouldn't be here. Where are your parents?"

The man she referred to walked toward the car with the creepiest smile. "Is that you, Princess Amethyst?"

Nanny squeezed Vi's hand, "Come on, we need to get out." They exited the car, and she bowed, "Prince Anwir, it's good to see you. Please let me introduce Princess Amethyst." She reached behind her back and pushed her towards him. Violet didn't know if she was supposed to bow, but she did.

"I can't believe it's you. Princess, we haven't seen you since you were a little baby." She didn't even know what to say, so she just smiled.

"Where is the King and Queen Prince Anwir?" Nanny was pissed, and Vi couldn't figure out why.

His eyes flashed angrily, and then he put on a sad face. "Sadly, the King and Queen passed away the night you ran away with the Princess. I'm the King now." His creepy smile was back. "You must be tired from your journey. Let's get you inside so you can clean up and rest."

A bunch of people escorted the two of them to their new rooms. They were fancy and honestly ugly, but what did she know? She grew up in a cabin in the woods. It didn't take long before Nanny came into her room. "They want you to come to dinner. It would be best if you got cleaned up and dressed. Go shower. I'll get your gown ready."

"Gown?"

She snorted, "Shower Princess, no more running through the woods barefoot." She snapped her fingers and pointed to the bathroom.

"So bossy, I just showered this morning," Vi grumbled. But she went and did what she asked of her. There were so many knobs and even some buttons she had absolutely no idea how to turn the stupid shower on. So she did the only thing she could do she twisted all the knobs and pushed some buttons until the shower came on and it was semi-warm. When Vi was done, she dried off and returned to the bedroom. "Nope, no way I am not wearing that."

Nanny put her hands on her hips, "Yes, you are; now let me dry your hair, and then we need to get you ready. We don't have a lot of time left." She wrangled the unwilling Princess over to the vanity, dried her hair, twisted it, and pinned it. She put makeup on her, and Vi hated it. She'd never worn makeup before, and she didn't like it at all. She handed her new underwear and told her to get dressed.

Vi was wearing a silver dress. It was lace on the top and sleeveless, and the bottom was satin with a bow in the middle. It fell to right below her knees. Then Nanny handed Vi some high heels, and she just had to laugh. She had never walked in heels before, and now she wants her to wear them in front of people. Ha, watch the disgraced Princess faceplant more likely.

Vi took a few turns around the bedroom, almost twisted her ankle, and fell twice. She tried to protest, but Nanny said that she had to wear them; she had to get used to all of this because they were at war. She was confused, and Nanny knew, "I don't have time to tell you everything right now. Just trust me, please?"

She squeezed her hands, "Of course I trust you; you raised me."

Nanny squeezed her hands back, "Then be prepared for battle; don't let him see any weakness. I know I didn't train you for this, but you are smart and can handle anything."

Vi picked her head up, she didn't know why they were going to war, but they were, and she'll be damned if she let someone get the better of her. Nanny raised her, and she did a damn good job of it. So she's going to show them that she's a motherfucking Princess. She walked into the dining room and almost fell, not because of the heels but because it looked like some scene out of a movie. There was a huge table covered with food, but there were only two seats, one at each end of the table.

"Please have a seat, Princess; I've been waiting for you."

This dude was creepy, like, say I hope you are hungry, like an average person. Vi gave him a small smile; she figured it was better than saying what she was thinking.
