Mikael's POV
After my promise to Niklaus and our little moment, I watched him paint for a while. It was amazing to see him be so gentle with the brush strokes. I even tried it myself, it was relaxing and we had a good laugh after my silly mistake. I promised we could do that again soon.
When we painted each of our own things, Niklaus opened up to me more. He told me all about his nightmares of that day and how he would occaisionally see a wolf whimpering in a cage with bloodied paws and hallow eyes. He told me how he could never to anything to it. No matter how much he tried.
It broke my heart to hear it. I couldn't say that the wolf was his, he thought it was from his wolf side yes, but not that it was part of him in that cage. Waiting. Suffering.
He told me honestly about his feelings and about stuff that happened to him, from everyday things to his personal life. He mentioned how he had always seen this specific wolf always where he went. He told me that the wolf never came close to him, it watched him from a distance and once killed bunch of vampires who attacked him.
It got me thinking. It couldn't be. It shouldn't be possible. But yet here I was too. Alive, breathing.
I felt a finger travel up and down my chest with a soft gentle touch, waking me up from my own trail of thoughts. I opened my eyes, turned my head down and saw Ayana smiling softly up at me. I held my hand tightly around her waist as she leaned into my body.
I leaned in and gave her a kiss on the head. "Morning." I said in a rough morning voice. Ayana kept her smile and put her chin to my chest while she looked up at me.
"Morning my love." She said and trailed her hand over a scar on my chest. She gave it a light kiss and then put her head back against my chest.
She had done that a lot after I opened up to her about how conflicted I was about them. She kissed every single one of them and told me how it didn't change me at all in her eyes.
"What is your plan for today?" Ayana asked and closed her eyes happily as I kept stroking my hand up and down her back, but keeping it there and respecting her boundaries.
I shrugged lightly and licked my lips. "First of all I'm going to spend time with my love, then I am going to talk with the witches doing Niklaus' ritual and then I'll make sure that the Scooby gang wont go behind our back."
Ayana chuckled at the name picked for the group. "And what do you have in mind?" She asked with a small smirk on her face and trailed her hand down to my stomach before bringing it back slowly.
I grinned and bounced up from my spot on the bed. I gently tackled Ayana to the bed on her back and she let out a surprised squeal. I caged Ayana between my arms while holding myself up with them and looked down at her.
"I do have some ideas." I said quielty and leaned down close to her, our breaths fanning each others lips.
"Mmh, do tell?" Ayana kept her small smirk, even though her cheeks held a beautiful flush of red.
"It involves someone very beautiful." I said as I kissed the corner of her lips softly.
"Oh, continue." She continued with a teasing edge on her voice even though I could see the love shining in her eyes.
"Someone who makes my day better by a simple smile." I kissed her jaw.
"She sounds like a special person." Ayana said and tilted her head slightly up.
I trailed small soft kisses down her neck when I saw her invitation. "She has no idea how special she is." I said between kisses.
"She has the ability to make me crazy. To make my heart beat out of my chest. The ability to..." I kissed behind her ear and whispered to her ear.
