Blog 423: Making Sense Part 2

Josh- "Maya!?"

Josh's POV:

I couldn't believe my eyes, it was Maya, Maya Hart...she was standing in front of me in my hospital room. I thought she didn't care and could have tried to make things work with Matty. I mean it had been 6 weeks and I haven't seen or heard from her. I know she had the baby but that's it, Lucas and everyone haven't really talked to Maya either, so no one really knew what was going on with her. According to Lucas I had been in and out for the past month in a half, had 2 surgeries, and had a cast on my leg and arm, 4 broken ribs, and a concussion. I don't remember much about the accident but all I remember was wanting to be with Maya.

Maya-H-hhey J-Josh

Josh- M-Maya?? What are you doing here?

Maya- I was checking on the baby when I found out you were in an accident. I had to make sure you were okay, and let you know that if I had known I--

Josh- You just found out. Where did you think I was all this time? What do you mean you were checking on the baby I mean it's been 6 weeks...thought you would've taken her home by now?

Maya- I thought maybe you took me up on my offer and took the out honestly...I mean it was 6 weeks and I hadn't heard anything from you, so I don't know I thought maybe you didn't want to be with me anymore.

Josh-Maya...I would never want that I was on my way here and-

Maya- I know now Missy told me everything, but enough about that...how are you feeling I mean you look--

Josh-Terrible??

Maya-(laugh) I wouldn't say that but since you did, I'm not going to fully disagree

Josh-(laugh) wow you could've just lied to me, but back to the baby why is she still here?

Maya and I were talking like nothing changed and if I'm being honest, I was happy she was there. I could see that she was happy but at the same time, I saw this pain in her eyes that I haven't seen since she talked to me about her dad. I asked what had happened with the baby and why Maya was still visiting her in the hospital. When I asked that question, I saw her whole face drop, what could I have possibly missed this past month and a half?

Maya-S-s-she had to have surgery the day she was born and then a few more after that. Today Matty and I thought we were going to be able to take her home, but the doctor just told us that she hasn't gained any weight and still can't eat without the tube.

Josh-Ohh my god Maya I'm so sorry, how are you doing?

Maya-It definitely hasn't been an easy 6 weeks but between my mom, Missy, and Matty I've been getting through it.

Maya and I talked for what felt like forever, we caught well I caught up on everything that was going on since I've been here. It felt great just to talk with and it felt like nothing changed, and while it technically hasn't, I hadn't seen her for 6 weeks and didn't know where her head was.

Josh-So the doctors say I might be able to go home in a couple of days.

Maya-Josh that's amazing, and again I'm sorry I haven't been here I mean I should've known I could've texted Lucas or--

Josh-Maya it's okay, you had a lot going on and you're here now. Do you have a name for the baby yet?

Maya-Yea it's...

Maya stayed until visiting hours were over, I even got to see Miss, Olivia, and her mom. Riley and everyone stopped by again and we all were able to catch up. This...this is what I wanted, my beautiful girlfriend and her incredible daughters, my obnoxious brother, and all my friends by my side encouraging me to get better.

*One month later*

Maya's POV:

So, it's been a month, and everything seems to be getting back to normal, Josh was finally back home, and I'm helping him with physical therapy. The school year is almost over and let me tell you seems like time has really flown by. I've managed to get my grades up and make sure Josh stayed on track even with everything too, and we both managed to only need to take a couple of classes over the summer. Ladybug's finally gaining some weight and I'm hoping in a matter of weeks she'll be able to finally come home, she's now 10 weeks old and I have yet to hold her without her being hooked up to so many things.

Matty and Josh seem to be getting along a lot more, but I still sense some kind of tension whenever I tell Matty I'm doing something with Josh. I'm hoping they can both continue to get along and we'll be able to have an incredible senior year.
