(A/N: Sprites human body is a kid so I went with 13)

"Hey Sprite!" You call out, running up to your new friend.

"Y/N!" She calls back, and you crash into her with a massive hug.

She laughs, and pushes you off. "Get off me, young man!" She reprimands, a bright smile on her face.

"Young man? I'm a year older than you." You reply and she scoffs.

"I'm actually way older than you." She fires back. She takes a second to process what she's said and goes bright red.

"What?" You're 13, dumbass." You say, and Sprite chuckles nervously.

"Yup. 13. Totally." She stammers, eyes downcast as she starts to walk away.

"Sprite? Where're you going?" You call out.

"Nowhere!" She yells back as she walks further and further away.

Later...

You walk into class, hoping to see Sprite sitting at her desk, ready to explain why she was acting weird earlier, but sadly, she's not there.

You sit at your desk, and for the first half of the lesson, you stare absentmindedly at Sprites empty chair.

Then, all of a sudden, she comes skulking in through the door, apologising quickly to the teacher and taking her seat.

You smile at her nervously, and she gives a small smile back.

"Where have you been?" You whisper.

"I needed to talk to my family about something." She replies quietly. You bite the inside of your lip as you analyse her face, trying to see if it's good or bad.

Eventually you give up, and listen to the last part of the lesson.

Once the bell rings...

You sling your bag over your shoulder and start to walk out of the classroom. Your second lesson of the day wasn't with Sprite so you just left without saying a word.

Suddenly, you feel a hand on your elbow.

"Meet me by the janitors cupboard." She whispers, and you nod before walking away.

You get into your class, and as soon as the teacher takes attendance, you ask to go to the bathroom and leave.

Once you near the janitors cupboard, you can see Sprite standing outside. Back facing you as she plays with her clothes.

"Sprite?" You murmur, and she whips around to face you.

"Y/N." She answers.

"So, you gonna tell me what the hell happened earlier?" You ask and she takes a deep breath.

"I'm not 13," she admits, "well, not exactly anyway."

You furrow your eyebrows as she speaks and take a step towards her. "What does that mean?" You question, and she swallows thickly.

This time she takes longer to answer.

"I'm thousands of years old." She reveals and you laugh.

"Ha, ha. Very funny. Was this some kinda stupid prank?" You hissed. Sprite shakes her head fervently.

"You've heard of the Eternals, right?" She responded in a hushed tone, and you do a double take.

"You're not telling me that you're-" you start.

"Yeah." She cuts in, and you run your hand through your hair.

"So you're an Eternal?" You ponder, and yet again she shakes her head.

"After she stopped the Emergence, Sersi managed to make me human." Sprite tells you. You nod slowly and take a deep breath. "Look, if you don't want to be my friend anymore then-" she murmurs, but it's her turn to be cut off.

"What? Why wouldn't I want to be your friend?" You ask incredulously.

"Cause it's a lot to deal with, and humans tend to not want to process all... that." She stated, and you chuckle.

"Are you kidding me? I'm only mad that you didn't tell me sooner! Do you know how cool I'd seem if everyone knew my best friend was an Eternal?!" You exclaim, which makes Sprite chuckle and shake her head.

"You're dumb." She says.

"I don't care, my best friend was part of one of the coolest superhero teams in history!" You cheer.

"Superhero?" She asks, not amused.

"C'mon. Laser eyes? Mind control? Illusions?! How can you not be superheroes?" You tease, and Sprite elbows you in the side.

"Ouch! Super strength!" You chuckle, which makes Sprite groan and pull herself away from you.

Later...

You and Sprite are walking out of school, laughing and joking, when a black car pulls up in front of you, as it does every day.

A man emerges, his good looks and perfectly styled black hair stand out to you.

"Hello, girls and boys- well, girl and boy." He greets and you give an unsure but amused smile.

"Hey K," Sprite greets warmly, then turns to you, "Y/N, this is Kingo."

Your eyes widen as you look at the man. "This is Kingo? Oh my god, this entire time he's been picking you up from school?!" You exclaim and Kingo chuckles.

"I'm guessing you told him." Kingo observes, and Sprite nods.

"He's taking it better than I thought he would." Sprite says. Kingo smirks and holds a hand out for you to shake.

"Kingo, also known as the Shadow Warrior, at your service." He introduces himself and you smile, taking his hand and shaking it.

Seeing your overjoyed smile, Sprite is grateful she told you. And when Kingo turns and winks at her, she can tell he's grateful he convinced her to.
