Makkari - Give me a sign (pt.2)

READER PRONOUNS: HE/HIM

"Hello there, you two." Greets the deep voice of the man at the door, he's got a distinct Scottish accent that intrigues you.

"Hey, Ikaris!" Kingo replies, and he walks past him and through the door.

'Ikaris, this is Y/N' Makkari tells the Scot. He tilts his head as he looks at you, gaze piercing and you feel as if he's looking into your soul.

"Hi." You manage to get out, it sounds a lot less manly than you would've liked.

"Nice to meet you, Y/N." The man—Ikaris, as you learnt from Kingo and Makkari—says. He stares at you a moment longer before he walks back into the house.

Before going in, Makkari turns to you. 'You ok?' She asks and you give her a small nod and a nervous smile.

'That guy, Ikaris, he is so intimidating' you sign and she giggles.

'He's not so bad, just protective' she assures you, so you give a decisive nod and walk past her and into the house.

You walk through the hallway, and notice a few photos hanging on the walls.

One is of Ikaris and some woman you'd never seen before. She's Asian and has a sense of a certain gentle grace about her.

The next photo is of Kingo, Makkari, Ikaris, the Asian woman and a taller black man with glasses. Makkari is practically glowing, her hair styled perfectly and her smile beautiful.

'You look gorgeous here' you tell her, and she looks at the photo before giving a shy smile.

'Thank you, I-'

"Well, well, well,a little birdy told me that you're Makkari's new boyfriend!" A man exclaims, he has a distinctive Irish accent and when you look at him, you notice that he's incredibly handsome. Yet again, you feel a little intimidated.

"Uh, yeah. I am." You say, and the man runs his hand through his dark hair, blue eyes locked directly on to yours.

"I'm assuming she's told you all about me." He says, and you glance over at Makkari, shaking your head.

The man seems taken aback. "Oh. Well. I'm Druig." He introduces himself, holding out his hand for you to shake.

You shake it, a little confidence gained at his expense.

'Ok and you two, let's go in' Makkari signs, and you both oblige, letting her go first.

When you arrive in the dining room, you're greeted by eight people sitting around the table. Kingo and Ikaris who you've met before, and the others that you'd seen in the pictures on the wall.

The beautiful Asian woman sits nearest to you, and smiles brightly as she stands to say hello. She introduces herself as Sersi. You give her a slightly overwhelmed smile as she shakes your hand gently.

The noise of all ten superheroes is nothing to be underestimated. Laughing, loud chatting, teasing and the clattering of cutlery.

"Hello!" Comes a small voice from behind you and you turn around to see a young girl with a short shock of red hair. You grin down at her, and there's a slight flush of excitement on her cheeks as you shake her hand.

There's a loud banging on the table, and all heads turn to look at the source. Makkari stands there, looking pleased about the fact that she could shut you all up.

'Guys, this is Y/N,' Makkari tells them, 'he's my boyfriend'

Small gasps go up amongst the group, and all heads turn to face you. Kingo, Sersi, Sprite and the tall black man look excited and happy, but the rest look a little shocked.

"Hi." You say, waving.

Suddenly, chairs scrape on the floor and the ones you don't recognise all stand up.

"I'm Phastos. I'm so happy to meet you! You're a very handsome man and I think-"

"Stop hogging him!" Cuts in another man. "Hi, I'm Gilgamesh, I'm honoured to meet you, Y/N." He shake your hand with a surprising amount of strength even for a man of such a large size.

"And I'm Thena." A graceful woman with white-blonde hair introduces.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet the man that has been making our Makkari so happy! I'm Ajak."A regal looking woman says, placing a hand on your shoulder.

To say you're a little blindsided would be an understatement, but you take in the information nonetheless.

"Nice to meet you all!" You exclaim, and you're met with joyful smiles.

The man, Gilgamesh, ushers you into a seat, talking to you about the pie that he'd made that he'd love you to eat.

You grab a fork and take a bite of the pie, smiling involuntarily at the delicious and comforting taste.

He begins asking you a flurry of questions. How is it, do you like it, do you want more, and so on.

His onslaught of words are cut short as Makkari gently moves him out of the way.

She whisks you out of the room, and brings you into the kitchen. The break in noise is a welcome relief.

'Thank you so much' you say, and Makkari gives a warm smile.

'I'm sorry, I know they can be overwhelming, I should have thought' she apologises, but you shake your head.

'Nonsense, you have a wonderful family' you assure her, and she pulls you into a hug. She brings your head on to her shoulder, and you sigh, your whole body relaxing into hers.
