READER PRONOUNS: SHE/HER

"Y/N."

Gilgamesh's voice rings out through your brain, and the hazy cloud of confusion lifts.

You focus back in on the world around you, and see that your friends are all surrounding you, Makkari is on the ground, being tended to by Ajak, and Druig is being held up by Phastos.

Your brows crease in confusion, and you look down, seeing your hand alight with flame. Quickly, you extinguish it by closing your fist.

"What- what happened?" You ask, looking up at Gilgamesh.

"It's hard to explain. Let's head back to the house." Ajak answers instead. You look to her and nod.

At the house...

"What?" You choke out, tears already forming in your eyes. Gilgamesh rubs your back comfortingly as you process the news.

Mahd Wy'ry was something everyone knew about, but didn't dare discuss. Your mind buckling under the pressure of your thousands of years of memories is not something to bring up in conversation.

"I'm sorry, Y/N. There is nothing I can do for you." Ajak says, and you let out a sob, leaning back into Gilgamesh's strong chest. He wraps his arms around you and keeps you there, comforting you.

"Will you- will you need to wipe my memories?" You question softly, and you can feel the holding of breath from everyone in the room, waiting for Ajak's answer.

"If I don't, you'll continue to attack us. We might have to kill you, Y/N. And I don't want to see that happen." Ajak murmurs and your heart sinks to your stomach.

"Surely there's another choice?" Sersi asks, and Ajak sighs, shaking her head.

"She's dangerous, Sersi. The best thing to do is to wipe her." Ajak tells her firmly.

"You can't!" Sprite cries out.

"I must." Ajak replies.

"What if I took care of her?" Gilgamesh asks, brown eyes glittering softly with emotion.

"You could, but with her pyrokinesis and strength, it would be dangerous." Ajak mutters, but Gilgamesh shrugs.

"I can protect myself." He answers simply, and Ajak purses her lips, thinking.

"Alright. Gilgamesh, you may take care of Y/N." She concedes, and Gilgamesh smiles brightly. He looks down at you and gives you a little squeeze. You also manage a smile, even though a feeling of anxiety is blossoming in your chest.

Weeks later...

"What do you think?" Gilgamesh asks, looking up at the house he'd built for you two.

"I think it's beautiful." You answer, walking up beside him and wrapping your arm around his waist.

He chuckles heartily, wrapping his strong arm around your shoulders. He leans down and places a soft kiss to the top of your head before walking over to the oven he'd installed in the front of the house.

Curiously, you follow him over, and watch as he pulls out a large pie from inside.

You gasp and run up behind him, inspecting the golden brown crust and smiling widely.

"Since when could you cook?" You exclaim, and Gilgamesh shrugs.

"I've had thousands of years, thought I'd pick up a hobby." He replies and you giggle.

"It looks lovely. When did you make this?" You ask, leaning your head on his bicep.

"Few hours ago. You were down by the tree, so I thought I'd make a little surprise." He says warmly, and you grab both sides of Gilgamesh's face, pulling him down to place a kiss on the tip of his nose.

When you release his face, he starts rambling about the pie and what you're going to have with it, the smile on his face contagious as he carries the pie into the house and closes the door behind him.

You giggle, enjoying how flustered he was.

"Y/N." Comes a sudden and unexpected voice from behind you. A familiar voice.

You turn around and see Ikaris, Sersi, Kingo and Sprite stood before you. Them and some random man you'd never seen before, filming you with a camera.

"What're you doing here?" You ask, head already starting to cloud over.

"We need your help. Well, you and Gil." Ikaris says. You can tell he didn't really want your help, he just wanted Gilgamesh.

A boiling anger rises up in your stomach, and you can't seem to push it down. Images of war and destruction flash through your head, and your vision clouds over.

"Gil!" You call out, and you hear him walk out into the sun.

And that's the last thing you remember as your vision goes and the anger and confusion takes over.
