[REQUEST] Sersi - Carnival

READER PRONOUNS: SHE/THEY (pronouns not specifically used sorry)

For your three month anniversary, you had decided to surprise Sersi with a trip to the carnival. You knew she'd never gone before, being to busy either fighting Deviants or working.

"C'mon Sersi! We need to go!" You call out, and you can hear her sigh from your shared bedroom.

"I'm coming!" She calls back, and you can hear her gentle footsteps coming down the stairs a few moments later.

She looks beautiful. A flowy red dress and simple black boot heels was all she needed to look breathtaking.  The dark waves of her hair cascading down her shoulders, framing her soft face and highlighting her brown doe eyes.

"Wow, uh.." you mumble, at a loss for words.

She smirks. "I thought you said we needed to go?" She teases, and you roll your eyes, snapping out of your daze.

"Yes! We do!" You exclaim, grabbing her hand and gently pulling her towards the door, her giggling the whole way.

Once you get her in the car, she begins to ask questions about where you're going. At first, it's the basic one: "so, where are we headed?", but when you tell her it's a surprise, she tries different approaches, "have we been there before?" And "have I talked about this place before?"

You eventually give up on answering, only meeting her questions with a sly grin. She eventually huffs and gives up, staring out the window to try and figure it out herself.

Once you pull up, under the cover of trees, the carnival is mainly blocked from view, only brightly coloured lights and cheery music reaching your eyes.

"What is this place?" She gasps excitedly, her hand grasping yours as she practically skips beyond the tree line in the dark.

When you make it through the trees, you can see Sersi's eyes light up. The carnivals lights glittering away in the darkness of her eyes as you gaze at her.

"Y/n! Oh my god! This is brilliant!" She exclaims, squeezing your hand and turning her attention to you.

Your cheeks heat up and you wave it off as nothing big, which she accepts due to her excitement.

You can barely keep your footing as Sersi drags you down the hill to the carnival, too overwhelmed to even think about how fast she was going.

She immediately brings you over to the nearest ride, the bumper cars. You sit down in the tiny fake car, and as the music starts, so do the bumper cars. You drive her around, trying to bump into as many of the other cars as you can. She squeals with joy as the force knocks through you both and she's glowing once you both clamber out of the car when the time ends.

Next, she convinces you to go on the Zipper, which scares the shit out of you, but once you're on it, it's surprisingly fun if you can forgive the lightheadedness afterwards.

The next ride you both go on is the carousel. You though it was a bit childish at first, but sharing a horse to sit on with Sersi wasn't so bad. She pressed her back against you and held your hand. There was a child next to you, and she giggled and clapped when Sersi smiled at her. You pressed your forehead against her back and listened to her breath.

She looked fit to explode as her gaze lands on the food trucks. Popcorn, candy floss, lollipops, hotdogs... they all catch her eye as she wanders through the beginning of the carnival. She turns and asks if she can get a candy apple, to which, of course, you agree.

She picks out a particularly shiny apple and you pick out the food you want as well. She also gets a bag of curly fries for you both to share. You sit and eat, enjoying the ambiance of the carnival.

"Thank you, Y/N. This has been amazing." She murmurs, smiling softly and placing a soft kiss to your temple.

You smile back, kissing her cheek and assuring her it was no problem. You brush a strand of hair out of her face and she scoots closer to you.

She leans her forehead against yours and you both close your eyes. You were happy like this, and neither of you were going to leave any time soon.
