You could feel it all building up behind your skin, the stress and the pressure slowly overwhelming your brain and making you lose control.

Everyone in the room noticed, but none knew what to do. The storm cloud over your head looked like it could start torrentially raining at any point and they could hear the thunder rolling outside. They all feared a single word could set you off.

Suddenly, Ajak and Druig walk through the doorway, speaking in hushed tones. They notice the tense atmosphere and Ajak clocks you in the corner.

"Y/N! You're storming!" She exclaims, which alerts Druig too.

"I know, Ajak! I can't help it! Nothing has gone right today, the mission went wrong and it was all my fault!" You rant, running your hands through your hair frantically.

"Y/N, it's thundering outside! You must stop!" She reprimands, and you bury your face in your hands.

Druig approaches you quickly and wraps you up in his arms, pulling you close to his chest. "Shh, shh. It's not your fault, darling. It's ok." He soothes, gently running his fingers through your disarrayed hair.

Slowly but surely as massages your scalp with the movements, you feel your storm cloud turn paler, and the small flashes of lighting within it come to a stop.

Druig knows you're not out of the woods, but loosens his grip around you, turning his head towards Ajak.

His eyes glow the shimmering shade of gold that appears when he's using his powers and you know he's conversing with Ajak in her head.

After a few moments, Druig huffs and the gold fades. You bring your hand to his chest and play with the collar of his shirt.

He glances around at the rest of the Eternals in the room, who are all looking at you two and he huffs again, scoops you up in his arms, and carries you bridal style out of the room.

You arrive in your room, that smells of lavender for calming you down and Druig sits you on your bed and drops down behind you on to the soft blankets and pillows.

"You didn't need to do that." You whisper, and he shrugs.

"They were all lookin' at you. 'S not fun when you're panickin'." He reasons, his fingers back in your hair, pulling it into no style in particular.

You sit quietly for a few minutes, and soon enough, the cloud above your head turns white. Druig runs his hands down your arms before pulling you back against him, running his hands up and down your sides, tickling you.

Through fits of giggles and protests, your cloud completely disappears, leaving the sun outside shining a little brighter than before.

Druig stops his attack and sits back, proud of his work. You smile up at him, and he hoists you up into his lap, making you squeal.

"What?" You question.

"You're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." He murmurs, gazing up at you adoringly.

Your cheeks warm up, and you press a soft kiss to his lips. Once you pull away, he pecks your lips again before sinking into a deeper kiss.

You feel his smile against the kiss, and you can help but smile too. You sigh contentedly as you pull away, gazing into the stormy blues of his eyes.

"I'm sorry for all this." You mutter, eyes suddenly downcast.

"What d'ya mean?" He asks, brushing his thumb over your cheekbone. You bite the inside of your lip as you wonder whether or not to tell him.

"Stressing you all out. I mean, I ruin everything, and you're the one to deal with it every time-"

"No," he deadpans, "I don't deal with you. I want to take care of you. I love you, for cryin' out loud!" His Irish accent gets thicker as the emotion bubbles up in his voice.

You regard him with soft eyes, struck with wonder by his words. "Really?" You ask, voice so quiet he has to strain his ears to hear you.

"Of course! I mean, how could I not l-" He's cut off by you bowling him over with a hug, knocking out the air in his lungs.

"I love you too." You mumble into his collarbone, which causes him to squeeze you tighter.

"What did I do t' deserve you?" He ponders aloud, and you place a kiss against his skin.

"I should ask myself the same." You reply, and he manoeuvres himself down so you're face to face.

You find yourself yawning as you relax, and Druig gives a contented smile. "Sleepy?" He asks, and you nod, curling yourself into him.

It's not long before you're sleeping peacefully, the sun shining outside with your happiness. Druig lays with you, your steady breathing and warmth letting him know you're ok.

He smiles, and places the softest of kisses to your forehead.

"My wonderful Y/N." He whispers to himself, closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep beside you.
