Chapter 5 - Best friend

After meeting with Lord Saash, August had returned to the palace.If he was gone for too long at such a time , suspicions might raise and this could turn to be a real disadvantage.

The worst thing here was August had enemies both outside and inside the palace. One wrong move and everything was finished.

Even if it meant driving people out of his life. He just couldn't bear any disturbance in his goal. His aim was clear. He had to find out the evil plans of General Shen and stop him. He had to continue his father's legacy , be as much as a good ruler as his father.

To people,he appeared cold , insensitive and selfish but he didn't have time to explain all the shot that was happening in his life .He didn't want to bother changing people's opinions.As long as they don't harm the family reputation, and the people don't perceive him as a bad heir , it was okay. If it would, he could not let anything tarnish his image and make the people be in the dark.

August was walking down the halls when suddenly a hand came out of nowhere on his shoulder. His reflexes were quick to grab the hand immediately. What he saw next disappointed him to no end.

"So, monthly mood , how are you doing?"

"Oh, Just leave me alone Theo!"
August said a Little rudely yet in a way whining.

" C'mon bro, don't tell me! Now your childhood friends are a annoyance to you huh?"
Theo said making a cute pout .

Theo Ethan's was a demon too like August and they both had been together for what was maybe a century. He was a tall man , a little bit taller than August while his blonde shoulder length hair was flowing down freely. Not to mention he was the ultimate definition of boyish charm.

Being a man , he had definitely quite cute features which made him drop to the cute category while August was the epitome of handsomeness.

" Let's see. Could it be that you forgot your best friend not to mention your Only friend ?"
Theo asked emphasizing the word 'only'.

" Listen Theo , I don't know what good it does to you to keep pestering me all day long. Plus , who said you were my best friend, huh?"
August said with an irritated face which soon turned cocky.

" Pffft... Please, after all these years growing up together this is what you are asking me. And I am the single friend you have, if you have forgotten my dear brother!"
Theo said giggling knowing too well he was chucking truth bombs .

August didn't reply and continued walking with a faster pace. Theo caught up to him within seconds and was making a grim face while staring in August's soul.

" Stop following me , Theo ! I very well know you are here for some favour and no; No way in hell am I giving you permission to wander off in other realms!"
August knew his dear friend way too good to know he was being all clingy for some petty reason.

" Hmmmph ! You know what? You are the meanest guy I've ever seen! I mean, you get to go wherever you want and I am stuck inside this palace the whole damn day! You should cut me some slack, moody monster; like hey , the girls outside are dying to see my glorious face plus if I am around all these grumpy thick headed people,I am gonna lose my braincells!"
Theo said all in one breath .Seems like poor guy genuinely needed a breather. And being the lady charmer he was , a lack of female company was definitely going to turn him mad in this place filled with grumpy, greedy , ill smelling men.

" Oh good Lord ! Theo , considering the condition outside , I think you wanna jump in the arms of doom itself? If there is one reason I am not letting you do so ,then it's because you are our Army Chief . Cannot risk losing an important person."
August replied totally done with his friend's stupid accusations.

" So you are saying I am an important person?"
Theo asked rather shocked

" Oh c'mon I am not wasting anymore time with you, good day ! "
August replied while running away.

" Hey , come back here , just admit that I am your only best friend! That s the reason right? Hey! Come back here , I NEED AN EXPLANATION! ."
Theo practically yelled thrilled at the rate occurrence of acceptance in his friend's speech .

August and Theo were running down the halls until they saw a familiar figure approaching.

It was the one person both of them dreaded to see . Yet here they were , facing the ever composed General Shen himself.
