Chapter 6 - Future

" Greetings, Young Master. I see you have been quite busy lately."
General Shen said making a bow to the prince .

August and Theo too made a bow for respect .

" I didn't expect to see you here , General Shen."
August said totally confused why someone belonging to military dorms would come to the royal residence.

" You see, Prince ; the military command are making adjustments of the postings . We are here to inform the royal family about the changes in the placements and orders of soldiers. It may result in a change in the palace servants too."
Advisor Ben who had been lingering behind General Shen clarified the changes according to the wartime situation.

" Oh , well I am sure that as long as General Shen handles it , we don't really need to worry , do we? "
Advisor Ben muttered in with the most sweetest possible tone.
It was a known fact that the two definitely had some connection due to the advisor being in the favour of military and always been seen with the General. If saw for the first time, you might mistake them for a Teacher - disciple pair .

" Yes , Advisor Ben ! You don't need to worry .I am sure he will handle it just well as he did during the artifact scandal "
Theo said referencing the scandal where under General Shens rule , a lot of artifacts went missing with no proper court hearing on the case and poor investigation. He had been immensely criticized that time.

" That was an unfortunate event for sure , Chief Theo ! I promise i will make it my aim to make better arrangements this time . "
General Shen replied getting a little uncomfortable at the sudden taunt .

" That being said, have we received the permission to hold the coronation ceremony by the elders? "
August asked curiously as getting the throne to make difficult decisions was important to him.

" uuhh ....ugh .... Yes ....Yes , Prince ! We have received the letter of approval a week ago."
General Shen replied but clearly grimaced on the topic.
August nodded in answer.

" Before we leave, I really want to apologise from the bottom of my heart for any shortcomings in this crucial time. And I am also very sorry for your loss . Hope his Majesty's soul rests in peace."
Advisor Ben tried to make it sound honest but badly failed to hide an amused smile at the last part.

" Yes , Prince . I totally agree. There was no one who matched His Majesty's level , I doubt someone will be able to rule as well as he did certainly. He is the best person I have seen in my life as a kind , compassionate, loyal , caring person .He had certainly fulfilled his duties as a king as well as a person. Too bad that this sad fate was to occur to such a person! "
General Shen was probably trying to put salt in August's wounds and humiliating him at the same time. Bastard was definitely smiling from within.

" Hmm , I am glad that my father had gathered such an amazing unit of people who care about him even after death. I thank you for concerning yourself with it "
August replied calmly with the usual poker face.

" Yeah, and even though August's rule would not be on par with the late honourable king but I am sure he'll do his utmost best . People are going to respect him as a good person raised by other good people. And yes, I am sure he'll even think of giving a promotion to people who are stuck at the sam position for years , like advisor Ben, don't you think so General Shen? "
Theo said with sarcasm dripping off his word on the latter part.

Unable to hide their sour expression, they decided that leaving was the best for them .
All four of them bowed to each other before the General and the Advisor left .

August knew that however annoying his friend may seem , he always had his back. He just talked back to the most respected people to avenge his friend. Theo was smart , brave and like a brother to him but August certainly wasn't going to admit that.

" Thank you, Theo . Now that's all and don't you DARE follow me ! "
August said to Theo placing a hand on his shoulder and running away before Theo could utter a word.

" Hey , you , hey listen-"
Theo tried calling after him .
Damn, he just took advantage of Theo's absent mindedness
Next time he was surely going to get him.

Hmmph you better be hiding your face in the bushes cause wherever you go , I am gonna Hunt you down and then we'll see who's the smart one here!
Theo thought to himself angrily but cutely pouting upset at his friend's behaviour.
