Chapter 15 - Guests?

      After watching over the town and observing for a while, August and Theo decided to get back to the Capital. August knew there wasn't much time left and thus got to work as soon as they reached the palace.
      He decided to go through the expenditure accounts of the palace treasury. August was in his room engrossed in his work when the door suddenly flew open.

       August didn't have to see to know who came in.

       " What is it now, Theo?"

       " August! I just received a letter from Kyle. They're coming over here for the coronation ceremony. Uncle Johnathan and both the aunt's are coming too. isn't that great ? I mean it's been so long since we met Kyle."
     Theo chattered happily.

     " ......."

     " Oh come on, don't be like that! "
     Theo said settling himself down on August's bed.

      Theo sprawled on the bed and poked August with his bare feet.
As he looked behind to see if August noticed he was met by a strong glare.
      He straightened himself up and placed his elbow on August's shoulder. August had his focus back on his work now.

      " Are you..... not happy?"

       " What is there to be happy about? They're coming only because of the coronation ceremony. Plus, hasn't Kyle come here a lot of times?"
        August replied dryly.

     " You know that this will be the first time after the funeral that they'll be coming right? Then please August, don't let the burdens of past weigh over you. The family is gathering due to such a happy occasion.
       I am not asking you to forget the past but with the bright future right in front of you, it's better that you don't recall it now. You understand right?"
       Theo told him to sincerely feel happy and be positive.

      " I am not, Theo.i thought i told you before that i don't feel either sad or happy. I know that i must approch things with neutral perspective. That is exactly what I am doing."
      August replied still focusing on his work.

     " Yeah, that is pretty evident "
            Theo replied staring at his expressionless face and the papers scattered around the table.

       " Listen, August. At the least i just want you to behave the way you did with the family. I do understand your pressure and the situation both.
        Just try your best and let's just face it together huh , August? I will always be with you."

     Theo immediately hugged August with a sly smirk. August who was busy working out his documents down and returned the hug.For he knew that no matter what, his silly friend would always be by his side.
     
     " You dummy, you don't need to tell me. I already know. And about what you said , i will keep that in mind."
     August said with a hint of a smile on his lips.

      Happy that he managed to convince the difficult August, Theo first jumped and then ran out the room.
     He soon got lost in memories of the past. He remembered how Kyle and he would make mischief and August would get dragged into it despite being innocent. How August always readily helped Kyle and possibly cared for him like an actual older brother. How Kyle's stupid actions would make August laugh like crazy.
       Oh! He sighed.

    " Just come quickly , little duckling Kyle ! Maybe you can make him smile again ,......i hope"
    Theo thought to himself.

    After  Maya and Bella finally arrived at the address, Maya didn't waste any time to knock on the wooden door of the huge brick bungalow.

   " Coming!!" a high pitched voice could be heard from the other side of the door.

     As soon as the door opened , a young lady with a pregnant belly stood in front of them. After staring for few seconds, Bella decided to introduce themselves.

      " Hello, uhm, actually i am Bella and this is my sister Maya."

     " Oh! You are Maya and Bella? Oh, please come in , come inside.
I have heard a lot about you guys from my husband."
    The lady smiled  brightly and was so energetic even in her condition. For some reason it made them feel familiarity.

     "Who is it Jane? " A deep voice boomed through the house.

    " Hurry,come and look! " The lady replied back

     She gestured for them to sit on the guest seats. As soon as they took their seats , a young man entered the room .

   "Wha- Maya?and Bella? ! What are you guys doing here? Hahaha"
     This person was none other than their cousin Brian. He was smiling from ear to ear after seeing them.

    " Mumma! Dad! Come look who is here! "
   He shouted as he bent down to hug both the girls. He hugged Bella and commented on her glow making her blush.
He then patted Maya on the head

    " Aye, chicken , have you grown since last time?"
   He asked  slightly flicking her forehead.

    " Haha , a lot more than you can imagine! Besides i am gonna be taller than you in a few years, you shrimp."
       Maya slightly pouted in disapproval of her being called a chicken.

   " Oh my! What is this? Bella and Maya?! Oh babies, long time no see!"
     Aunt Jay exclaimed as she stepped forward to hug the girls.

  " Oh god ! Have the angels descended on our humble home? I almost could not recognise you two!"
     Uncle Lan joked as he patted their heads.

   When they were settled down, Brian introduced them to his wife

   " Girls, this lady right here is my wife. Her name is Jane. We  got married a year ago."
     He said gesturing Jane to sit down too.

     " Oh! So that's why we felt you were familiar as we could not attend the wedding we didn't know who the bride was!"
    Maya exclaimed on the news.

   " Yes! Good thing you were not there , you troublemakers. Or else how would I have been able to spend so much time with my wife? I really love her!"
   He said while looking at Jane endearingly.

   Bella aww- ed at the scene while Maya could barely hold in her laugh.

  " Yeah , that's pretty much visible."
         Maya said while pointing towards the pregnant belly of her sister in law.

     Both the husband and wife blushed deep shades of red. Maya was satisfied with the reaction and it made her feel like some sort of powerful being knowing how she can make someone flustered.

      " I'll go make tea "
            Jane said getting up but Brian stoped her and said he will do it in her stead as she's pregnant.

     The afternoon was quickly spent joking and laughing followed by a lot of babying for Bella which made Maya glad she was not the one getting married.

    " Jokes aside but if that boy makes you cry , ever! , then he will face my wrath; no one touches my sisters."
      He told Bella about he won't forgive anyone who makes his sisters cry.

     They were all so engrossed in talking that they didn't have any track of time. It was soon evening but the laughter, jokes , hugs and pleasant atmosphere was still there.
