Chapter 10 - A strange situation

" Wake up Maya!"
Bella yelled for the thousandth time.

' No! it was my fault for falling asleep with her. At least, we could've been less troublesome."
thought Bella.

Maya yawned as she slowly got up .
" What happened Bella? ~ is it mornin' already?

She suddenly got aware of the sharp sunlight and realised it was noon .

" Hey, sis , weren't we travelling in a carriage?"
She couldn't remember much of it but she remembered making a joke about how the drivers head looked like a rotten pumpkin and how Edward is gonna get sleepless after marriage because of Bella's snores.
Then they had fallen asleep.Did they reach the town yet?

Bella sat down at the bench where Maya was sitting.
" At the entrance,Maya. The driver helped me put you here on the bench because you sleep like a dead man!"

" Oh , i see! I am sorry! Well let's get going, shall we?"
Maya offered her hand to Bella getting up.

After walking a considerable distance, they saw all the hustle bustle near the entrance.

"Woah! Look at that! Bella we country folks sure dont get to see this every day. I doubt if so many people even live in our village."
Maya expressed her awe at the enormous amount of people flocking at the entrance of the town.

" An amazing sight it is indeed! " Bella exclaimed.

"Stop! Gentlemen, .......yes ,i do agree with that but......okay okay we got it ! Now please behave people!"
Bella and Maya were taken aback by the hustle surrounding them .
They went ahead to have a closer look.

" It seems as if some fool didn't bring his Id."
Maya sneered . Oh how she loved watching chaos unfold while she gets to have a sideline seat.

" Look, people we can't let any of you through until you show your Id.
It's an order from the palace.
So please co-operate and lessen the agitation."
A very stern guard at the door yelled out.

In front of him a man who was covered in black clothing from head to toe had his face covered with a hood was standing.

" Listen, young man , we do not want excuses so please either show your Id or step out of the queue.
You are wasting all of our's time."
Another guard beside the first one spoke up to the mysterious man.

The sisters Bella and Maya stepped close to the line to get a good look at what was happening.

" I already told you please wait for a bit , i will just go in and come out.
I promise i don't have ulterior motives.
Besides,if anything happens,you can find and arrest me."
The man clad in black spoke in a calm tone.

" How many times do I need to tell you, man? No id, no entry ! Now please step out."
The irritated guard at the right said.

" Excuse me! Wait for me please! "
Another man clad in orange hood came dashing and piercing through the crowd.

" And who are you? "
The guards looked him up and down .These men definitely looked shady .How could one possibly trust them?

" Well , i am ..... Here, come here a minute! "
The orange clad man dragged the guard and showed them something.
When they came back , the guard looked rather terrified and worried.

" I am extremely sorry for the inconveniences, your- i mean , young men .you are allowed to go in ."
Everyone started murmuring .just what the hell was happening?

" Woah. WTH! First a shady looking man wants to go in and has no id , gets refused. Then his equally shady looking friend comes in , shows something mysterious to the guards and get a fine free entry."
Maya re accounted the whole scenario in her head .

" We don't know, let's not poke our nose in unwanted cases."
Bella warned her to not go after these mysterious people.

" Oh , i swear i won't! "
Said Maya while pouting sadly.

" Hey , you beauties right there! "
Someone yelled from behind.

" Yes , you two! Would you like to skip the long line ? " One of the guards asked them stepping close to them. It was clear he was flirting and that was a very bad attempt at it.

" If you two like we can let you go in first. Afterall it would be a pity to let such beauties stand in the noon sunlight all this time. Your glow would vanish , ain't it right? "
He continued to press his offer.

" Uhmm, Actually ..."
Bella tried to respectfully decline as she did not want to engage in any kind of misunderstanding.

" Yes , oh it is so nice of you to offer that. We would accept it of course!
Let's go , Bella! "
Before Bella could say something, Maya held her hand and started running off.

" Wait! , Hear me out! "
The guard shouted.

" Hmm, what is it? "
Maya turned around and asked him.

He smiled a very wicked smile and thats when Bella knew that this was not something good.
