Walking into the Avengers Tower Evie waves at John wishing him a good morning as she brings over his iced coffee. It had become a routine of theirs that when she visited if he was on shift would bring him one. It wasn't until the second time that she came to the Tower that she recognized him as the doorman who used to work for her building.

Not long after she'd been taken he'd left and had come to work for her dad to earn more money. They'd gotten to talking over the last week and had hit it off after he had her cracking up when she checked in. He was ridiculously funny and was only working at her dad's company to make ends meet while he was trying to make it as a comedian.

Handing him the cup she smiles at him. "Morning Johnny. Anything exciting happening today?" Taking a sip of his drink he looked around before giving her a wink signaling that she was in the clear.

"Nah, just a regular old day. You're looking spiffy, something special planned?" John had agreed to help her get in to see Pepper without her realizing that it was her.

After that disaster of an almost lunch, Pepper had been avoiding Evie's attempts to reschedule at every turn. Instead of upsetting her dad anymore she took it into her own hands to fix the problem. "You could say that. Wish me luck." He waved her off as she headed to the elevators thanking her for the coffee.

JARVIS greeted her with his usual chipper attitude. By chipper she meant upper crust properness that she's come to find funny and endearing. "Good morning Evie, are you visiting Mr Stark or headed for the team's floor?"

Smoothing her hands down her shirt Evie adjusted her jacket and large purse telling him, "Neither, I have an appointment on the 38th floor."

Several more people enter the elevator heading up to run their errands or getting to work. Giving them a polite smile as she moved back to make more room. Once everyone had requested their floors she waited her turn to get off.

Glancing around at the SHIELD agents littered amongst the business men and women she felt slightly nervous. She knew she had nothing to fear, but Pierce was there in the back of her head telling her that Hydra was everywhere, making her paranoid. Literally anyone could be a Hydra agent and no one would know. They'd gone so long being undetected that you could be standing next to one and you'd never know until they flipped on you. Using every bit of her training Evie kept still. Slowing down her heart rate and even her breathing so as to not raise suspicion.

God, just knowing how to do that made her eyes dart around the small space in nervousness. If she could walk around undetected then what did that mean for the ten other people in here? Chewing on the inside of her lips she shifted back to be able to keep an eye on everyone just in case. JARVIS announcing her floor had her startled for a moment. She'd been so lost in her head that she hadn't been paying attention to how far up she'd come.

Excusing herself she made her way from the back of the elevator out to the front desk of Stark Industries main secretary. A tall brunette dressed in a white and blue form fitting dress in her late twenties greeted her. "Welcome to Stark Industries, my name is Tina. Do you have an appointment?"

"Hi, Elizabeth Donahue for Ms Potts." She'd gone with her middle name and her mother's maiden name which was hers until she was five so she wasn't fully lying. Evie knew if she had tried to make the appointment with her name Pepper never would have seen her.

Smiling up at her the woman gave her the spiel she was sure she gave everyone who came through here. "Very well, I'll let her know you're here. Would you like anything to drink while you wait?"

"I'm good, but thank you." Walking over to one of the chairs in the waiting area Evie sat down. Crossing her legs she slowly kicked her foot to the beat of a song. Today was the White Stripes Seven nation army. Evie didn't even remember what had started the habit; she just knew she'd always done it. It was a way to pass the time while she waited without losing her mind from boredom. About five minutes later the secretary calling her name had her glancing up from her clasped hands.
