Three years after...
"Hello! Earth calling for Gulf!"
I blinked and scowled at the loud voice of my friend Boss, interrupting me from my reverie. He purposely shouted near my right ear and wheezed like I'd get delighted with what he did. I wanted to smack the life out of this weakling. "What?!" I blurted out annoyingly.
"Hey, relax will you?" he said while chuckling and raising his hands in the air. "You've been spacing out all day, my friend. That's why. Did something bad happen?"
I didn't answer.
Yes. Something definitely happened and it irritated me to the core.
I just found out that Mew had been chatting with someone from the city. Why the hell did he not tell me? If I didn't catch him last night, he wouldn't even care to tell me about it. I felt betrayed. Of course, I couldn't share it with Boss or he'll think I'm weird. We're friends since high school but personal matters, especially the ones with Mew, were classified information. I just don't feel comfortable sharing them with him at all.
"Love life, perhaps?" Boss teased.
I glared at him.
He laughed. "Opps! Sorry! I know, right? Of course, Gulf Kane Tanapong clearly doesn't have it. How could a person with a boring home-to-school-and-vice-versa daily routine have a girlfriend? Impossible!"
I just snorted. I turned my eyes again at the gate.
Boss didn't speak again until a few seconds later. "Will Mew fetch you today?"
I nodded. We were sitting on the bench by the main gate.
"What's going on with him, anyways? Does he have plans to move to the city or something? He already graduated last year, you know, with flying colors on top of that."
I shrugged. I was sure Mew wouldn't leave home though. Of course he wouldn't.
"He needs to spread his handsome wings and fly and explore the world. I bet he couldn't wait to get away from you, too. You're possessive." Boss continued and laughed out loud.
I glared at him again. Could I unfriend this gremlin?
"What? Don't you even realize it?" Boss said. He's clearly having fun getting on my nerves. "You're always with him. You always want to be where he is. You're suffocating him. I'm so sure he couldn't wait to leave you soon. HAHAHAHA!"
I smacked his head.
"Ow! What the-"
"Can you shut up?!"
He laughed even more. "Am I wrong though? Give your brother a breather, man."
We heard a honk. We automatically turned and saw Mew's car stopping across us. The passenger seat window opened and there he was, a smiling Mew Spencer peeped through the window, sitting comfortably in the driver's seat.
"Ohhhh. Speaking of the angel," Boss stated and waved at Mew through the steel gate. "Hello, big bro!" he shouted.
Mew waved back at Boss.
That smile. I got annoyed even more. I stood up, quickly gathering all my things.
"Remember my advice, okay?"
"Whatever."
"I'm serious. Don't suffocate your brother too much. Give him some space before he really decides to leave. I bet you'll cry a river if that happens." Boss kept provoking me.
