"Babe, try this. It's delicious."
I turned and looked at my good-looking husband. He was holding an expensive-looking glass of what seemed like coconut water. He put the straw closer to my mouth. I took a sip instantly. "Cocktail?"
Gulf nodded and took another sip for himself. He then sat on the reclining beach chair next to mine. It was a nice, sunny morning and we're here currently vacationing at Eian's private resort. It was a planned and mandatory family weekend since all of us got pretty busy with our own personal businesses lately.
I fixed the sunglasses that I was wearing and looked at my children. They were building sand castles together not far from us while also enjoying their favorite ice pops. There weren't many children around but they seemed to be having fun in their own little world. They're really close. We did not bring Carmencita along with us and Mimi, Quade's nanny. We gave them a weekend off. As a result, Gulf and I had our hands full. It's a good thing Bianca has grown a little older and enjoys taking good care of her brother. Quade adores her just as much.
Suddenly, two beautiful foreigners wearing skimpy swimsuits passed us by. The two glanced at us and immediately smiled. They looked friendly so I unconsciously smiled back. I needed to be friendly though. This was my brother-in-law's resort and I should be taking care of the guests, too.
"Here for the weekend, too?" asked the blonde one.
I looked at Gulf. He wasn't wearing any sunglasses so I immediately saw what's written in his eyes. He didn't look pleased at all. His eyebrows were pulled closer together. I wanted to laugh. He's so easy to read when he's not feeling good.
As if I'll trade him for any gold.
I turned back to the ladies in front of us and nodded. "Yes."
They both smiled even wider and I could tell the brunette looked even more excited. "We just got here yesterday. This is a pretty nice place. We love it already," she said. "I'm Rachel by the way, and this Amy."
Good thing they didn't offer their hands for any handshake. I didn't offer mine to be fair. "Nice to meet you. I'm glad you love this place. I'm Mew and this is my husband Gulf," I glanced at my husband who was now looking at the girls with a curt smile, taking another sip of his cocktail like he didn't care.
Cute.
They looked surprised. "Oh, wow! You're husbands? Cool."
"Gosh you both look amazing."
"Such a perfect pair."
I just smiled and nodded at them. They immediately said their goodbyes after that. I bet if we didn't tell them we're married, they'd surely stay and initiate small chitchats.
"Wow. You're such a lady magnet," Gulf scoffed.
I suppressed my laugher. I stood up and moved to his chair. In less than a minute, he's already seated comfortably on my lap, my arms tightly wrapped around their rightful place, his tiny waist.
"Aren't you glad, babe? That means I still look okay. This old man won't make you feel embarrassed when you're together in public." I told him.
He raised an eyebrow at me. "And what makes you think you embarrass me? Is that what you think of me now?"
I chuckled and kissed his cheek. "Of course not and you know that. It's just that I'm getting older now. I can't hide the wrinkles on my face. You, on the other hand, don't seem to age at all. You're like a vampire. Unfair," I added with a pout.
He scoffed again. "Tsk. You and your excuses, Mew Spence."
I laughed.
It's true, though. Gulf looked exactly like he was in his early twenties. Being a model once, he learned how to take good care of his skin and it shows. He's glowing at thirty-five. Right now, he's even only wearing a simple floral shirt and shorts but his charisma overflows. I, on the contrary, have aged rather fairly. I'm almost forty now with three restaurants and a bar on my plate. I also managed to acquire some shares in one of the country's prominent broadcasting stations. I've been pretty busy for the past years providing for my family and making sure my kids will have a bright and stable future once I leave this Earth.
