"Well I'm done. You can leave now." You said taking off your apron. "You're done?" Hawks asked, looking up from his phone. "Yeah." Putting on your coat, you told the man. "Great, then let's go." He said getting up from the chair he had currently been sitting on. "Go where?" You raised an eyebrow. "To your house." You could hear a slight hint of seriousness in his tone. "I thought I already told you I can ta-" You were cut off with him speaking. "Yeah I know, you've got balls girl but I'm supposed to patrol this area tonight because recently, villains have been more active around these areas." He said, looking serious.
"So why not walk home, my favorite worker from my favorite bakery?" He grinned. "Wow, for a second I thought you were finally taking your job seriously." You rolled your eyes. "Um, fyi I take my job super serious." He said with a little bit of sass in his voice."Sure you do chicken wings." You say making fun of him. "I actually take offense to that." He says leaning on the door. "Yeah, yeah, anyway, get out so I can turn on the alarm and get out of this hell hole." You say ignoring him "Fine I guess." Hawks said, putting his hand in the air as he walked out.
Walking outside of the bakery, you see hawks waiting for you.
"Ready to go?" He asks, putting his arm out so you both can link arms.
"Do I have to?" You ask with your eyebrow raised. "Yes." He grins.
Sighing quietly, you link arms with him.
"I feel like I'm a dad walking my daughter down the aisle right now." He said. "Yeah, and the isle is cold, wet, and slippery." You replied. "Boo your boring." He unlinks his arm. "Sorry, I'm not tryna roleplay with you." You shrug. "Woahh I'm not into that stuff, chill." You smirk, "sure your not."
It hadn't been that long since you guys left the bakery and suddenly, you smell smoke. Not only did you smell smoke but you felt like your skin was going to burn. There were screams, smoke, and fire coming from a nearby alleyway. The fire wasn't red or orange, or any of the common colors of fire. This fire was a beautiful teal color. You were fascinated by the color and you couldn't stop staring.
Hawks grab your wrist and say "We have to go." Completely forgetting that Hawks was here. "Why?" You questioned. "I'll explain later. But we have to go. Now." He said sternly. You have to admit it was a bit intimidating. Not questioning the hero, you just nodded. But before you guys could leave, you were stopped by a voice.
"Already leaving?"
Turning around you see a man with horrible scars around the bottom of his eyes and going across his jaw down to his collarbone.
You were stunned by looking at his face. Never had you seen such horrible scars. You got on your tippy toes and whispered to Hawks "Damn, what happened to his face?" Bending down a bit so he could reach your ear he said "Not so sure." He said with a serious face.
Apparently you two weren't being quiet enough because "That's a bit rude." The scarred man said. The both of you just looked at him. "I may have a messed up face but my ears still work well." He said, shoving his hands in his pockets. That was kinda emo but whatever.
Hawks sighed, "Why are you here?" The hero questioned the villain.
Oh damn, they know each other.
"I was hoping I could get some cake." He grinned, turning to you.
This chapter was really short I know but I'll make chapter 6 long :D
