*During the same time as Genna dies previously, but in real life*

The heart monitor beeped slowly to the beat of Genna's heart. Her parents, as well as Colton and Annie, sat in the room, not meeting anyone's gaze. They all stared at the floor. Colton sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

"When will she wake up, Aunt Lisa?" He asked, impatient as ever.

"Give your cousin some time Colton. She was in a bad wreck. Besides, it's only been..." She trailed off, tears forming in her eyes.

"It's been three years," Tim finished for her. Everyone stared down at the ground again.

Genna was hit by a drunk driver and has been in a coma for three years now. During that time, Colton has proposed to Annie and they were married last July. Now they had a baby on the way. The doctors said it was a girl. With all this good news, they only had to have Genna wake up for everything to be complete. They just had to wait for Genna.

"I think I saw her eyes move!" Annie said, causing everyone to cluster around her. To their disappointment, they remained motionless. Everyone returned to their original positions and stared down at the ground again. Colton grabbed Annie's hand and stroked his thumb over the back of it.

"You know, I wanted her to be my maid of honor. She was so nice and kind when I met her, and I don't have any siblings of my own. She would've been a great cousin in law," Annie said, a tear escaping her eye. Colton wiped it away and kissed her cheek, grateful for her kind words. This is why he loved her.

Suddenly the door opened and the doctor came in, holding an envelope.

"Mrs. Dixon? Your ultrasound photos are done," he said, handing Annie the envelope. She thanked him and he left, shutting the door behind him. Annie began to open the envelope as Colton twiddled with the cross necklace Genna had given him, before the accident. He didn't know how she did it, but she managed to engrave "I'll be the light" in her own handwriting.

He smiled, warm memories coming back to him as he remembered his little cousin. He glanced at the bed. He wondered what she was dreaming about. Suddenly he heard a gasp and looked to see Annie covering her mouth.

"Colton look!" She said, holding the photos to him. He took them and his heart melted as he saw his daughter for the first time.

"She's beautiful," he breathed, meaning it too.

"We have to think of a name," she said.

Colton thought for a moment. Nothing really stuck out to him. His eyes wandered to the hospital bed, where the tiniest girl he knew slept. Then it hit him, the perfect name.

"I like Genevieve."

Suddenly the heart monitor flat lined and they all rushed to her side, trying not to mess with the tubes. Tim headed to the door and began shouting for a doctor and her mother cried in a corner. Annie and Colton held her hand, feeling the warmth seep from her body.

Colton cried. He was losing one of the most important people of his life. His little cousin, his favorite cousin. They've been best friends since they were little, heck, he would put her in a high chair and feed her baby food when she was young. They grew up together. They told each other everything, and have been through thick and thin.

He clung to her hand like it was his life support. He clung onto it with everything he had, even when the doctors began to yell at him. Annie had to drag him away, out into the hallway. Colton slowly sunk down to the floor, his head between his legs and his sobs shaking his whole body. Annie tried to comfort him; soothing pats and coos. Colton had just lost the one friend who had been with him his whole life.

"Colton she's in a better place," Annie cooed. That didn't help him much.

A few minutes later, the doctor came out and stared down at him, a weary expression on his face. He didn't even have to say a word. The way he couldn't meet Colton's eyes and the way he shook his head said it all. He cried even louder, the nurses all lowering their heads. They felt his pain. They could hear the raw agony in his voice. That was the sound of losing a loved one.

After hours of crying, Colton's sobs slowly turned into pitiful whimpers and he fell into a fitful sleep. He did not feel the same for a long time.

*5 years later*

Genna was peacefully buried and has been for awhile now. Everyone was taking their time getting over her, and Annie was currently in labor.

"Colton I'm scared," she whimpered, clutching his hand with everything she had.

"Annie it's ok. You're doing great, keep pushing," Colton encouraged his wife. She grunted and her face was coated in sweat from the exertion.

Soon cries could be heard, and Annie relaxed. Her work was done.

"It's a beautiful baby girl," the nurse said, taking the baby to be cleaned up, measured and weighed. Annie gave Colton a weary smile, but his eyes were alive with the knowledge of he was now a father.

The nurse came back shortly with a bundle of pink. Annie held her arms out and the nurse put the baby into it. Annie smiled with so much joy when she finally held her daughter.

"She's beautiful Colton," she cooed.

"Just like you," Colton said, earning a blush from Annie.

"Actually she looks like someone we know. Do you know who?" She asked. Colton looked at his daughter, gazing at her features. The mop of curly blonde hair, dark brown eyes, and ears that slightly stood out. Then it hit him like a ton of bricks and old memories began to flash before his eyes.

"Genna," he breathed. His daughter had her features, and tears began to build in his eyes. He looked up at Annie to see her eyes watery as well.

"You know what we have to do, right?" She asked him. He nodded and looked up at the nurse holding a clip board with a birth certificate.

"Are we ready for a name?" She asked them. They looked at each other, smiled, then turned back to the waiting nurse.

"Genevieve Marie Dixon."

__________The End___________

Hey guys! Ok for those of you who don't understand, the whole story (except for this chapter) was a dream that Genna was having while being in a coma. She did get hit by a car, but she was just in the coma for the entire time. Colton is actually her cousin, not Annie. When Genna died in the dream, she actually died in real life. Yes I am an awful person and I killed myself twice in one book. #yolo. I hate that acronym, but I made an exception because it fit haha. So! The next story will be about how Genna Dixon (I actually like how my full name sounds with the last name Dixon haha!) grows up and possibly meets the old Genna. But you'll have to read to find out! I'm already thinking of ideas for the next story so don't worry!

Thank you guys for reading, and thank you so much for the 1.06K reads! I never thought that so many would read this book. I honestly thought that I rushed it and that I didn't put as much detail as I could've, but apparently it was good enough to get that many reads! Hahaha thank you guys so much! It was an amazing experience to be able to talk to some of you guys and read your comments. That honestly kept me going with this story.

I am checking my inbox more so feel free to message me (sorry ZElizabethS for not checking that message sooner haha!) and I am willing to reveal some of my story secrets (not some that are big sorry!). Feel free to ask me questions, leave comments, and thank you again for all the support and love guys. Reading some comments honestly brightened my day and I always try to answer back in the comments.

I love you so much! I will keep you posted about the new story and any others you guys might be interested. It has been fun, and remember.

I'll Be the Light.
