Awakening

I floated in darkness, moving as if I was underwater. I felt nothing, I heard nothing, I touched nothing. I've been here awhile now, it felt like eternity. This had to be some kind of dream, a bleak nightmare. I really wish I had my IPod. Suddenly, the greatest thing ever happened ever since I came here. I saw a faint light trough the dark waters. I struggled to move towards it, but the waters held me in place. I could see light though! I was so close! I just had to break the surface! Next came sounds. These made me paused since sound was new to me still. They were muffled, but they got louder and softer, as if it was a voice. One was more gruff and low, while the other one was softer and higher. I got the sense of floating and I was nearing the surface. Yes! I could make out what the voices were saying even though it was a bit muffled still. "So what do you think of her Colton?" A female voice said. 'Wait, I know that voice. Schyler?' I thought to myself. That voice was Schyler! If I could feel my body I think I would feel my blood pumping through my veins as the mention of her brother caught my attention. 'Colton!' Suddenly a large, calloused hand gently held mine. "I feel really bad that I hit her but I guess I'm trying to make up for that by staying by her bedside until she wakes up. I've prayed for her, I've donated blood to her for surgery, and I've even sung to her. I know she's a fan and I thought she'd like to listen to music." Colton said, rubbing his thumb on the back of my hand. Then there was a rapid beeping sound and then quickly slowed to a calmer tone as I calmed myself. 'Stupid fan girl attack.' "What was that?" Schyler asked, worry heavy in her voice. "I have no idea Schy." Colton said. It was silent for a few moments, the beat of my heart filling the silence. I think they were trying to make sure I was ok. "Ok I think it's ok." Schyler soon said afterward. 'Guys I'm fine. Stop fussing over me!' I wanted to tell them, but my lips felt as if they were sown shut. "Oh hey I got something for her. Do you think she'll like it?" He asked Schylar. There was the sound of something opening with a creek and a gasp. "She'll love it Colton!" She squealed. 'Let me see it you jerks!' I tried to speak again, only to have my mouth hang open a bit and drool to slide out. 'Ew.' I thought. Then I heard it close. Then the second miracle happened today. My eyes opened a bit, but just a tiny bit. I could see them both watching my heart monitor, not even noticing me being awake. I saw Schyler, my beautiful Schyler with her lovely auburn hair and great fashion sense. And Colton looking great as ever, but with a Batman shirt on. I could have fun with this. I practiced moving my tongue to form words a bit, then I moved my lips. Colton saw and quickly moved his head closer to my mouth. "What was that Genna?" He frantically asked. Schyler began to call doctors to tell them that I was awake. "Take... Off... That hideous... Shirt..." My words were soft and cracked almost every where. But he still got the message as he looked at his shirt, then at my Superman shirt. He chuckled. "If anything you should be the one taking off the shirt." He said. Schyler snickered. Colton was a bit slow to catch on to how bad that sounded, but once he did he had a mortified look on his face. "I mean don't please. I mean you can if you want to. I mean- ugh you know what I mean." He struggled to find a way to explain it. I weakly chuckled and managed to nod. "Smooth one Colton." Schyler said.
