We arrived at school a few minutes later. Teresa parked the car in the front row. "Genna come with me." Schyler said. I nodded and exited the car and we walked into the school. It was cool and so quiet in the school. We began to walk through the school. I looked around, taking in the colorful banners and locker decorations. I think I would miss this after graduation. Jeez, I completely forgot that graduation is a few months away! Why did high school have to go by so fast? Why did I have to be a senior? Just then I realized something. We passed Schyler's locker. "Schy, where are we going?" I asked. "There's something that I need to show you." She giggled. I groaned. This couldn't be good. We walked in silence for a few minutes until she spoke again. "Your favorite Disney princess story is Cinderella right?" She asked. "Yes it is. What kind of a question is that?" I asked. What was she planning? "Great." Was all she said, completely ignoring my question. I sighed. Then a melody echoed through the hall, bouncing off the stone walls and reaching my ears. It was familiar somehow, but I couldn't place my finger on it. The tinkling melodic sound of a piano hit my ears as did a voice. A voice I knew all so well. "Colton?" I mumbled. Schyler giggled and grabbed my hand and began to drag me to the auditorium. Then I finally recognized the song as "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes. Colton was singing it though. We burst through the doors of the auditorium to see Colton at the piano, singing and a huge banner above him with the words, "Now it's time for your own Cinderella story" written on it. I felt something being placed on my head and I turned to Schylar to see her grinning like a fool as she put a plastic crown on my head. I laughed and turned back to Colton to see him still singing into the microphone but smiling at me. I grinned and ran down the steps to him. I slowed as I reached the stage, my eyes never leaving him. He was on the third verse and I sat down on the bench next to him. He finished the song while staring into my eyes. His voice was so beautiful and my heart fluttered every time I heard it. I could feel a blush creeping onto my cheeks as he smiled at me. "Genna, will you do me the honor of being my date to prom?" He asked. 'So that's what this was all about! They are so sneaky! How did I not see this?' I laughed at myself for not figuring it out sooner. "Of course Colton. I would love to be your date." I said. "Good because I would be very sad if you had said no." He chuckled. I laughed. We rose from the bench as we heard a clicking sound from behind us. We turned to see Schyler with a camera again. "Aww prom!" She squealed. We all laughed. This was going to be so much fun.
